Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Philip and Xander might not be lucky in love, but at least they have each other, right? This whole forged letter scheme cost the Kiriakis brothers a lot, starting at the beginning of the year. When Stephanie learned the truth, she dumped Philip. When Xander learned the truth (and that Sarah kept it from him), he beat Philip to within an inch of his life, but not they're BFFs. Who woulda thunk it when 2025 began? For the moment, it looks like Philip has Gabi in his life, but when he finds out she was spying for Tony DiMera, that will be over as quickly as it began. That means Philip and Xander can have more brotherly moments at Julie's bookstore while eating pastries. Or, maybe they can take it to Small Bar, where Philip wanted to go so Xander could drown his sorrows. That could make things a little more interesting. But Xander is trying to grow as a person, which makes his new friendship with Philip all the more endearing. We never imagined that Philip and Xander would ever be this close, but it actually works. Sibling relationships and strong friendships are just as important to soaps as romance, so it's nice to see a new friendship forming in Salem between two men who can never seem to get anything in life right.
