Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

What was the point of the Salem blackout we just witnessed, when nothing happened that couldn't have happened if the lights had been on? Two couples had sex who were bound to have sex any day anyway, so a blackout wasn't needed to finally get Cat and Chad to have a romp on the couch or get Xander and Sarah back into bed with one another. EJ and Belle were stuck in an elevator just as Cat and Chad were a few weeks ago and...nothing happened. Yes, Belle had a panic attack combined with an asthma attack, but the power returned within minutes of that happening, and nobody was the worse for wear. Theo and JJ ended up having the same conversation about JJ's police skills as they had two weeks ago. On Monday, Susan and Marlena had the same conversation about something being off with Marlena's mind, body, and soul that they've been having since May, except this time the convo took place in the dark. Leo rescued Gwen from the new hospital clinic, but the former BFFs didn't exactly make up. So again, we are not sure what the point was since very little story advanced, nothing really exciting happened, and what did happen didn't need a blackout as a backdrop for slight plot movement. May Salem's next big event in November be the excitement we are looking for.
