Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on Days of our Lives
We knew something horrible had happened to Javi's daughter, but we never expected his story to horrify us and tug at our heartstrings so much. When Javi told Leo that he was involved with a woman to please his mother, despite his homosexuality, and they had a baby, we braced ourselves for the end of the story. And then it came. Javi had drunk too much one night, so his girlfriend allowed him to sleep it off and offered to take their daughter to daycare. At that point, we were sure he was going to tell Leo that Sylvia had been in some horrible accident and both she and their little girl didn't make it, but it was much worse than that. Since Sylvia was not used to being the one to drop the baby off at daycare, she forgot that her daughter was in the car and left her there for 20 minutes in the sweltering heat. When we hear those kinds of stories in the news, we always wonder how a parent can just forget that their child is there. We also wonder about the other parent who wasn't there, and Days of our Lives gave us that point of view today. Javi's heartbreak and compassion were on full display as he told Leo the most gut-wrenching story while still feeling compassion for the mother of his child, who made the most consequential and tragic mistake of her life.
