Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Two weeks ago, when JJ celebrated his birthday, we lamented that he needed an actual storyline, and we may be getting there. Today, JJ had two encounters in Horton Town Square, but they certainly didn't improve his life. First, JJ ran into Gabi, who rightfully took him to task for accusing her of shooting EJ and then waiting until now to apologize. It has been months since Johnny was arrested and weeks since Kristen falsely confessed, and he waited until he ran into her to apologize? He couldn't have picked up the phone or sought her out in some other way sooner? After Gabi told him off, JJ ran into Theo, who discovered that JJ was a police officer again. JJ had left the force in 2017 after accidentally shooting Theo when he thought he was an intruder in a hoodie. Theo lingered in a coma for weeks as Days of our Lives explored the realities of police stereotyping people while shooting first and asking questions later. When JJ went to Jada and told her he still had PTSD from the incident and that she never should have allowed JJ back onto the force and handed him a weapon, we knew JJ was going to have some big moments coming up. JJ is getting a storyline, but it looks like it's going to come with a whole lots of angst.
