Sophia Choi found herself in a tough situation when she went into labor in her bedroom and ended up delivering her own baby while watching a YouTube tutorial. She panicked and left her baby at the firehouse, and then was forced to concoct a whole story about giving birth in Chicago before giving her baby to adoptive parents. She even lied about the baby's sex. We didn't think any of that was necessary, but we realized she was a young and confused girl who was not ready to be a mother. However, we now see that her biggest concern has always been Tate loving her and not much more. Since giving birth, she has made sure to get a job where Tate is working just to be close to him. In addition, her biggest fear is that Tate will hate her if anyone ever finds out what she really did with her baby. She left her baby at a firehouse, lied to her mother and the baby's father, sees her baby all over town, but nope, the boy she likes can't be mad at her. That's all she seems to care about. That, and her mother forcing her to raise the baby. Everything Sophia has done from the start of this pregnancy has reeked of selfishness, and nothing has changed in her post-partum college student era.
