Days of our Lives Recap, April 28-May 2, 2025: Shawn and Kayla fight for Bo, Johnny drops a bombshell, and Sophia falls ill

Here is the Days of our Lives recap for the episodes that aired April 28th through May 2nd, 2025.

What happened on Days of our Lives

Shawn learned that Bo was dying from sepsis and blamed himself. Jada comforted Shawn and let him reminisce about his father. Jada advised Shawn to stay in town among people who knew and loved his father. Steve and Marlena returned to Salem to wait for news about John.

Kayla contacted a doctor at her hospital who had been working on a medication that could treat Bo’s infection. Scott declined to help because of FDA rules. Scott asked the hospital to let him out of his contract so that he could move his lab to a more profitable hospital.

Shawn was devastated to learn that Kayla could not access the experimental treatment for Bo. Shawn told Philip about the problem. Steve and Kayla were frustrated by their inability to help John, Kim, or Bo. Shawn pitched Steve on a plan to steal the experimental treatment for Bo. Steve wanted to exclude Shawn to protect him, but Shawn refused to let Steve go alone.

Felicity continued to tease Chad about his feelings for Cat. Cat swore that she had told Felicity that she and Chad were friends. Alex and Stephanie exchanged keys to one another’s apartments. Stephanie cleared out her spare room for Jada to move in.

Tate asked Sophia to the prom as a do-over for the previous year. Sophia asked Tate if he had asked to make Holly jealous. Tate stressed that he had asked because he wanted to have fun. After Sophia went dress shopping, she and Tate ran into Holly in the town square. Sophia told Holly that Tate was taking her to prom.

While Holly was out getting dinner, Doug went to see about a job. Doug’s bookie called him and demanded interest on his loan even though it had been paid off. The bookie told Doug that he knew he had been living at the mansion, which alarmed Doug. Doug moved out, and he left a note for Holly on her bed. Doug searched for a homeless shelter to stay in. Julie told Maggie that she would never forgive Doug III.

Johnny confessed to Chanel that he was not sure he was ready to be a father. Chanel pleaded with Johnny to reconsider, but before they could talk the matter through, Tate and Sophia stopped by the home. Johnny told Tate and Sophia that the adoption was off. Betrayed, Chanel kicked Johnny out of the house. Tate consoled Sophia, and he reminded her that they were in it together.

Tate confronted Johnny in his hotel room about the failed adoption. Johnny stressed that he and Chanel had wanted to adopt the baby, but after he had learned about his father’s past, he had grown unsure. Johnny confessed that the dark part of EJ that had allowed him to rape Sami was a part of Johnny. Tate reminded Johnny that Johnny was the same person he had always been, and that he was not EJ.

After Sophia told her mother that the adoption had fallen through, Amy argued that it was a sign from god that Sophia should raise her own baby. Upset, Sophia countered that she deserved to go to college and start a family later. In the middle of the argument, Sophia grew dizzy. At the hospital, Sarah confirmed that Sophia needed to spend the remainder of her pregnancy on bed rest. Sophia was devastated to miss out on prom.

Paulina visited Johnny at the DiMera mansion to encourage him to get past his self-hatred. Paulina visited Chanel after, and she encouraged her to save her marriage. Chanel argued that Johnny’s unilateral decision to stop the adoption had been controlling like EJ.

Xander and Sarah decided to finally plan their honeymoon. Sarah decided to take Maggie’s advice and not tell Xander that she had known about Philip’s secret. Xander ordered Philip to move out of the CEO office, and he vowed to force him out of the company eventually. Philip asked Maggie if Xander could ever forgive him, but Maggie said no.

Alex promised Xander that he would never lie to him again and earn back Xander’s trust. When Alex mentioned the fundraiser had not raised enough money to save the hospital, Xander mentioned that he wanted to liquidate some Titan assets in order to bankroll a bid to buy the hospital. Xander also talked to Alex about building up the pharmaceutical arm of Titan.

Wei Shin told Xander he could never admit that Philip had lied about the letter. Sarah advised Xander not to seek revenge against Philip, but instead to focus on all the good things in his life. While Xander was in the square, he ran into Johnny. Johnny talked about his hatred for EJ. Xander offered Johnny a job.

EJ checked himself out of the hospital because he wanted to see Johnny. Johnny refused to talk to him. When EJ checked the memory card from Rafe’s hidden camera, he saw Johnny enter the room and point a gun. EJ remembered that after he had removed the memory card, he had turned and seen Johnny point the gun at him. Belle visited later, and he fell asleep in her arms. EJ dreamed that Johnny had shot him.

Gabi caught Leo rooting through her purse for evidence. Gabi ordered Leo to move out. Javi defended Leo. When Gabi and Javi returned to work, they found Philip had taken over her office. Gabi insulted Javi, and he went home for lunch. Javi questioned Leo, and Leo admitted he had been investigating Gabi as the main suspect in EJ’s shooting. Javi begged Leo not to write about his family. Leo argued that he could not stop doing his job, but he promised to leave work at the doorstep when he came home.
