Days of our Lives Recap, August 25-29, 2025: Stephanie advises, Philip has an affair, and Brady investigates

Here is your weekly recap for Days of our Lives for the episodes that aired August 25th through 29th, 2025. Stephanie urged Xander to make Philip’s inheritance legal, Gabi slept with Philip, Brady made a discovery, and Cat scored a new job and a friend.

When Stephanie asked Kayla a medical question for her mystery novel, she told Kayla it was for a client who was an author. Kayla suggested that Stephanie take on Anastasia Sands as a client so that Kaylie could meet the author.

Marlena told Rachel that Kristen had shot EJ. Rachel said she was certain that her mother was innocent. Brady called Kristen a monster. Kristen lied to Brady about the shooting to protect Rachel, but he was suspicious. Brady vowed never to let Kristen near her daughter again.

Cat met Gwen in the hospital, and they bonded over their Dimitri hatred. When Cat met with Rafe, he warned her that Chad would not approve of a friendship with Gwen. Cat scrambled to find another job at the hospital so that she could continue to snoop on EJ. Cat overheard that EJ had a new office, and she asked him if he needed a new assistant. EJ hired Cat. Chad warned Cat not to take the job, but she refused to quit. Elated, Cat called Rafe and told him that her new job put her in the perfect position to investigate EJ’s reasons for buying the hospital.

Gwen overheard Leo tell Javi that the jury had found Johnny not guilty. When Gwen told EJ, he kept the information to himself. When Gwen ran into Leo a second time, she continued to lash out every time Leo attempted to reconcile with her. Gwen told Leo to enjoy his happiness while it lasted.

Paulina agreed to help better fund the police department so that they could keep up with the technological advances of AI forensics. A sad Theo called Abe to touch base after his breakup with Claire. After the call, Abe and Paulina agreed that they needed to plan trips to visit all their children who lived out of town.

Gabi and Philip spent the night together. The morning after, Gabi ran into Belle on her way out of the hotel room. Philip convinced Belle to spend the day horse riding with him. During a chat, Philip admitted that he did not want to get into a relationship because he worried he would hurt that person. Belle swore off dating altogether. Belle counseled Philip to determine what job he wanted if he was unhappy at Titan.

Ari took her mother to task for having stayed out all night without a working phone. Ari told Gabi about her decision to go to Salem U, and Gabi was thrilled. Ari broke the news to her dads, then made plans to move into the dorms with Holly.

Gabi begged Javi to return as her assistant, but he declined. Gabi hinted that she was upwardly mobile at work. Javi talked about his passion for his job as an EMT. Gabi told Javi that she was happy for him, but that she was lonely.

Stephanie urged Xander to make Philip a legal co-heir to the DiMera fortune in case the news of Philip’s fraud came to light. Xander refused to reward Philip’s bad behavior. Steve’s investigation discovered that the ink used in Victor’s letter had been produced after Victor’s death. Steve told Stephanie what he had learned, and she told him everything she knew. Stephanie asked Steve to drop his investigation, and he agreed to do it for her. Stever returned Gabi’s retainer, but she refused to stop looking for dirt on Philip and Xander. Gabi planted a recording device in a pen on Xander’s desk.

Sarah cautioned Holly about Sophia’s connection to Tate. Tate and Holly were surprised to learn that Sophia was working at the pub with Tate. Holly warned Sophia not to use work as a way to steal her boyfriend. Sophia called Holly insecure. The two women flirted with Tate at the pub while they stared daggers at one another behind his back.

Brady asked Steve to investigate Sophia’s story about her baby’s adoption. With little information to go on, Brady decided to talk to the adoption lawyer. The lawyer said she had never heard of Tate Black. Steve asked Kayla if she could help him with Sophia’s case. Although Kayla could not talk about a patient, she did indicate to Steve that there was something worth investigating.

Salem U offered Johnny a position as an adjunct professor. Susan visited Johnny and Chanel to celebrate the end of the trial. Susan said she did not believe that Kristen had been the shooter. Susan warned Marlena that Marlena’s health was worse. Frustrated, Marlena threw Susan out of the penthouse.

Over coffee, Sarah complained about Kristen’s selfishness to Marlena. When Sarah lamented that she had returned Rachel to Kristen, Marlena pointed out that if she had kept Rachel, Brady would not have known his daughter. Sarah apologized, and she clarified that she only meant Rachel would have been better off without Kristen. Marlena defended Kristen as a mother. Marlena asked about Sarah’s marriage, and Sarah said her marriage was over unless Marlena could help Xander in therapy.

Alex talked to Sarah about her lingering feelings for Xander. Alex told Xander about his conversation with Sarah. Alex urged Xander to follow Stephanie’s advice to save the company by formally naming Philip as co-CEO.
