Days of our Lives Recap, August 4-8, 2025: Sami visits, EJ torpedoes his relationship, and Cat kisses Chad

Here is your weekly recap for Days of our Lives for the episodes that aired August 4th through 8th, 2025, when EJ humiliated Belle, Gabi worked Xander for info, Tate wrote a letter to his daughter, and Steve sidestepped a case from Alex for Titan.

What happened on Days of our Lives

Sami returned home for a visit, and she lamented that she had wasted so much of her childhood hating John. Marlena assured Sami that John had loved her and thought of her as a daughter. Sami told Johnny that she was glad that he had moved past his anger toward EJ. Johnny agreed that John would have wanted him to do that. At Johnny’s insistence, Sami returned home to Sydney.

Cat learned self-defense moves from Rafe, but she thought about Chad the whole time. Tony talked to Ana about reclaiming the DiMera company. Gabi cozied up to Xander to enact Tony’s plan, but Xander was wary of her motives. Gabi promised that their dinner was platonic. Xander admitted to Sarah that he had seen her with Brady. Sarah told Xander to get over himself.

Felicity told Chanel that her sister was missing. Across town, Julie panicked when she learned that Chad had not come home. While Julie tracked down info at the hospital, she noticed the out of order sign on the elevator. Julie and Marlena yelled until Chad and Cat yelled back from the stuck elevator.

Julie was upset that Chad liked Cat. Marlena reminded Julie that Chad deserved to find love again. Cat kept her distance from Chad as they waited for the doors to open, but when the elevator jerked, Chad caught Cat in his arms. Julie was livid when the doors opened and Chad was holding Cat. Julie barely hid her disdain, and Chad asked Julie not to disparage Cat in front of him again. When Julie changed the subject to the bookstore, Chad encouraged Julie to buy it.

Felicity caught strep throat, and Chad offered to pick up the medication for Cat. When Chad dropped off the meds, Cat swooned. Chad realized that Cat had the same fever, and he had likely been exposed himself. After Cat took cold medication, she woke from a fever dream, and she kissed Chad.

Susan continued to predict that there was a darkness in Marlena, which unnerved Johnny. Although EJ encouraged Susan to focus on learning the identity of the shooter, she continued to get a bad feeling from Marlena. Sarah gave Marlena a clean bill of health, but she promised to keep researching to determine if Marlena had an undiagnosed illness.

Sophia told Melinda that she had been forced to tell Sarah the truth about the baby. Tate asked for the address of the adoptive family so that he could send gifts to the baby. Tate apologized to Sophia for not having been more sympathetic to her situation. When Tate insisted on meeting his daughter, Sophia refused. Tate insisted on at least sending a letter to ask to meet the baby. Melinda provided a PO Box address for Sophia to give to Tate.

EJ’s cross-examination of Gabi upset her. Gabi told Rafe she was concerned that Johnny was guilty, and EJ would frame her to save his son. Paulina testified that she believed in Johnny’s innocence. After the court emptied, Belle slipped EJ a key card to her hotel room for a secret meetup during their lunch break.

In court after their tryst, Belle questioned Johnny about the reason for his anger toward EJ. Johnny admitted he had learned that he had been conceived during a rape. EJ forced Johnny to expose Belle as EJ’s girlfriend in court. EJ asked for a mistrial based on the conflict of interest. The judge denied the motion, and Belle told EJ he was dead to her.

Alex asked Steve to track down information on the person that had made the FOIA request about the Titan merger. Steve said he could not help. Steve asked Alex if he had any information on why Xander would be worried. Steve asked about Alex’s criminal history. Alex explained that he had stolen a rival college’s mascot.

Xander and Gabi had dinner at the pub, and Gabi told Xander about her testimony at Johnny’s trial. Gabi chatted up Xander about his rivalry with EJ. Gabi convinced Xander that she wanted the company to thrive for the sake of Gabi chic. After Gabi loosened Xander up with wine, she pushed him for information about his relationship with Philip. Xander admitted that he was still fighting with his brother but said no more. Gabi kissed Xander as a distraction, and Sarah saw them when she walked in with Brady. Drunk and jealous, Xander confronted Sarah. Sarah grabbed Brady and kissed him in retaliation.
