Here is your weekly recap for Days of our Lives for the episodes that aired July 14-18, 2025, when Gwen moved into the DiMera mansion, Sophia went to Chicago, Belle and EJ fought, Gabi and Xander bonded, and Rafe interrupted Doug's money drop with the kidnapper.
What Happened on Days of our Lives

Rafe was supposed to meet up with Cat for the ISA. While Cat walked through the park, she ran into Chad and Thomas. After Cat left, Chad thought about how Cat had received a call from a James Smith. Cat asked Rafe for info on EJ so that she could compile a profile on him. Rafe detailed all of EJ’s past misdeeds, shocking Cat.
Gwen announced that she was moving into the DiMera mansion. When Chad and Thomas stopped by the mansion, Thomas asked Gwen why she had refused to give back the necklace to Julie. When Thomas was out of earshot, Chad ordered Gwen to leave town and stay away from his family. Gwen said she refused to leave the mansion or Salem.
EJ pampered Belle, and she grew suspicious when he mentioned dropping charges against Johnny. Furious, Belle accused EJ of attempting to manipulate her, and she stormed out. In court, Belle and EJ agreed to keep their professional distance as adversaries in the courtroom. Johnny’s trial began with jury selection. Leo was picked.
Kristen told Brady about EJ’s effort to persuade her to coach Rachel’s testimony in Johnny’s trial. Kristen stressed that she had refused the request, but Brady still wanted to yell at EJ. Kristen begged Brady not to provoke her brother because he was dangerous.
Johnny and Chanel reviewed the list of suspects in EJ’s shooting. When Johnny learned that Chanel had put her bakery up as collateral for his bail, he was shocked. Chanel explained that she had wanted to show Johnny that she supported him unconditionally.
Alex revealed the cover of Stephanie’s book to her and that he had chosen the pen name Anastasia Sands. Kayla advised Stephanie not to take the PR job with EJ at the hospital. When Kayla noticed the mock-up cover of the book and complimented the manuscript, Stephanie did not admit she was the author.
Sophia wrote a letter to her son. Tate visited Sophia to tell her about his lake trip, and she encouraged him to go. Sophia took advantage of Tate’s absence to execute her plan with Melinda. Amy called Sophia, and Sophia lied and said she was meeting prospective adoptive parents in Chicago. From Chicago, Sophia left Tate a voicemail that she was in labor.
Leo told Doug about Gwen’s scheme to taunt Julie with Alice’s necklace. Inspired, Doug told his loan shark that he had a necklace that could satisfy his debt. Doug was relieved to learn Ari and Holly would be at the lake for a week, but the women were kidnapped on their way there. The kidnapper texted Doug a photo of the captive women, and ordered Doug to find the money.
Doug followed Gwen, but he was unable to steal her necklace. The loan shark warned Doug that he had until morning to find the money to save Ari and Holly. Ari and Holly compared notes and realized that they both had been interested in Doug. Tate was worried when Holly did not show up to the lake and did not return his phone calls. When Tate asked Doug if he had seen Holly, Doug said no. Tate pushed Doug until he broke and told Tate the truth. Tate got the money from his bank account, and in exchange, Doug promised to leave town.
Sarah attempted to retrieve Victoria from Xander, but he said he refused to be controlled by Sarah anymore. Sarah told Xander he was paranoid. Sarah stressed that she did not want to run off with Victoria, because she wanted Xander to share custody. Xander refused to believe Sarah. Sarah cancelled her trip to stay close.
Victoria interrupted the workplace because she kept crying. Gabi helped Victoria fall asleep. Xander and Gabi had a nice heart-to-heart about parenting and work. Gabi learned that Ari had not checked into her hotel, and she sent Rafe to search for Ari and Holly. Rafe discovered that the women had not left town. Rafe encouraged Gabi to distract herself with work while he tracked down Ari. Xander comforted Gabi when she told him about Ari’s disappearance.
Shawn confirmed that someone had kidnapped Ari and Holly at gunpoint. Rafe went to talk to Doug, and he interrupted Doug’s money drop with the kidnapper. Rafe detained the kidnapper, but the man refused to say anything about the kidnapped women.
