In the DiMera living room, Rachel explained that she had heard yelling the night that Uncle EJ was shot. "I snuck downstairs to see what was going on, and Johnny was there. He was fighting with Uncle EJ, and he had a gun," Rachel admitted. Kristen wondered if it was a dream, but Rachel insisted it was real.

Rachel admitted she didn't actually see Johnny use the gun. "I got scared, so I ran upstairs," Rachel said, noting that she didn't remember hearing an actual gunshot. "I think it's important that you and I keep this to ourselves. We can't tell anyone else, okay?" Kristen asked. Rachel agreed.

At the hospital nurses' station, Kayla told Brady there had been no change in John's condition. Brady hoped that the fact that John had grabbed Carrie's hand was a good sign, but Kayla did not seem hopeful. "But if anything can pull out of something like this, it's John Black," she said.

Brady then asked if Kayla had heard anything about Bo's condition. Kayla actually had good news. The infection was waning, but there was no guarantee that Bo's organs would recover. Their talk turned to the hospital board vote. Kayla felt that it was a choice between the lesser of two evils.

Just then, Kristen called to tell Brady that Rachel wasn't feeling well, so she was taking her to the hospital to have her checked out. Brady said he would wait for them there. "Physically, I don't think it's anything serious, but you and I have a lot to talk about," Kristen informed her ex.

Jada sat in her office at the Salem PD, trying to decide what to text Shawn. She finally settled on "Hope you're feeling better." Belle soon walked in to talk about some cases, but Jada was anxious to hear if Belle had heard from Shawn. Jada was concerned because Shawn had called in sick, but had seemed fine when she saw him last.

Belle finally broke down and told Jada that Shawn had brought the Versavix to Bo at the rehab facility. Jada was confused about how Shawn got the drug and why he didn't tell her. "Well, I am bound by attorney-client privilege, but I am guessing that he didn't want to incriminate you," Belle said. Jada realized this was connected to the meth lab fire.

Talk then turned to Xander and Philip. Belle told Jada what she learned from Alex. Jada knew she had enough evidence now to arrest Xander.

Chad was alarmed when he found EJ had fallen in Horton Town Square. Chad got his brother onto a bench as EJ insisted he was fine. He was more upset about Johnny rejecting him than he was about falling. "I deserved it. I deserved all of it," EJ said.

Chad asked if EJ wanted him to talk to Johnny and see if he could get him to come around, but EJ thought it would likely be fruitless. Chad then has to ask EJ a pointed question. Did he have anything to do with the Versavix theft? EJ was insulted by the question and vehemently denied it. "And I didn't attack Philip Kiriakis either. Satisfied now?" he said.

EJ then brought up the board meeting and asked Chad to vote for him for the sake of the hospital. "I know the hospital is very important to you, and I think we both agree it's better off in my hands than with Titan," EJ said. Chad assured EJ he could count on him.

Xander sat in The Brady Pub, leaving another message on Sarah's voicemail. "Victoria is my daughter. You cannot keep me from seeing her," he said. Xander called Melinda next to discuss custody of Victoria. "I know that you play to win, even if that means fighting dirty, which is exactly what I'm going to need you to do," Xander said.

Julie arrived at the Kiriakis mansion to visit Maggie and discuss the hospital board vote. She felt they were stuck between a rock and a hard place because they didn't like either prospective buyer. Julie suddenly noticed that Victor's portrait was missing and asked what had happened. "Xander happened," Maggie said.

Maggie explained everything that had gone down with Sarah, Xander, Philip, and the forged letter. Julie was shocked and horrified by the tale. "If Xander did attack Philip, I don't want him anywhere near my daughter or Victoria," Maggie declared. The ladies felt like they had more of a dilemma than ever. How could they vote for either Xander or EJ, considering the things both men have done?

When Maggie and Julie arrived at the hospital, they told Kayla that they worried that whichever man didn't win would retaliate against the other or anyone who sided against them. Kayla said she had a plan. Xander came up behind them and wondered if he was interrupting something.

Xander asked if they knew if Sarah was working. Maggie reminded Xander that she ordered him to stay away from Xander and Victoria. "Sarah made it perfectly clear that she doesn't want to see you right now," Maggie said. Just then, EJ appeared and wished Xander luck before hobbling away.

Kayla then told Maggie and Julie that the board vote would be anonymous, so Xander and EJ couldn't bully any of them once the vote was over.

Soon, Kristen and Rachel also made their way to the hospital. Brady joined them in an exam room where Rachel told them that her stomach hurt. When she went to get a cup of water, Kristen told Brady that she thought Rachel's problem was stress-related. "When I told her about Grandpa John, she completely broke down," Kristen said.

Kristen also told Brady that Rachel had seen Johnny arguing with EJ while brandishing a gun the night that EJ was shot. Brady wanted to go to the police, but Kristen refused. "I understand that Johnny is family, but if he shot your brother, we can't just sweep that under the rug. EJ almost died, for God's sake," Brady said.

Kristen feared the anguish Rachel would have to go through as a trial witness, plus they had another problem. "We are on thin ice with child protective services, Brady. And if they think she is in an unsafe environment, they will take her away from us," Kristen pointed out.

Brady promised not to say anything about this to Belle until they discussed the matter further. When Brady left the room to head to the board vote, he ran into Belle and EJ. Belle stopped Brady when he laid into EJ for all the horrors the DiMera family put John through over the years.

Kayla approached Brady and told him the only missing vote was his. Xander walked up behind them and accused EJ of trying to solicit votes. As everyone argued about the vote, Jada interrupted to cuff Xander. "You are under arrest for the assault of Philip Kiriakis," she said, shocking everyone.
