What happened on Days of our Lives

Stephanie was surprised when Alex walked in the front door. He told her that he'd decided to work from home because he liked the view. She said he could look but not touch because she had too much work to do. Stephanie was also annoyed and surprised by how many texts she was getting since she revealed herself as Anastasia Sands.
Alex handed Stephanie an envelope, suggesting that it could help ease her frustration. When she opened it, she was thrilled with the amount of her first royalty check from One Stormy Night. Alex was sorry that Stephanie was so overworked she couldn't enjoy all that money just yet.
Alex then surprised Stephanie with the news that Titan wanted her to go on a book tour. She worried about her PR clients. Alex assured her that they would make her schedule work. When Alex tried to get intimate, Stephanie reminded him that he was distracting her from her work.
Stephanie was still on Cloud Nine from her big reveal. She told Alex the event was "practically perfect," so he asked her why she said "practically." Stephanie pointed out that Alex was attacked by a flying pumpkin. The two blamed Jeremy for the incident. Alex was glad Stephanie would be away from Jeremy during her book tour.
When Alex examined the pumpkin stains on his shirt from the night before, he and Stephanie noticed a slit that seemed to be made with a knife.
Paulina sat down with Roman and Abe at The Brady Pub and surprised them with pictures of Little T, aka Trey. They loved the name John Paul and the nickname Trey. When they toasted to the new family member with coffee, Paulina noticed that Abe seemed to be acting strangely.
Roman changed the subject and told them how happy he was that Eric and Sami would be in Salem for the big gala. Paulina chimed in that Lani and Eli were also coming. After Abe left for a tutoring session at the bookstore, Roman asked why there seemed to be tension between Paulina and Abe.
"It's all because Theo told me a few things that he did not tell his father," Paulina explained. "I must say it's a slippery slope to be in your stepson's confidence and then confide in your husband."
Roman understood Abe's point of view because he hated it when any of his children were involved with the DiMeras. "Paulina, you don't know the DiMeras the way we do," Roman warned. Paulina thought Theo was sensible and could navigate things if he got in over his head.
Gwen walked into the DiMera living room in time to share a drink with EJ, who was celebrating becoming a grandfather. EJ admitted he didn't have photos because he was required to stay out of Johnny and Chanel's lives. Gwen thought the situation would work itself out, but EJ wasn't so sure.
Gwen admitted she was bracing herself for all the Hortons, Bradys, and Blacks arriving in Salem for the big gala. "I am sure it will be a maudlin tribute to John Black," Gwen lamented.
"It will be a rather large influx of hoiler than thou dullards, yes," EJ agreed. "But I thought the more good PR for the hospital, the better."
Gwen wondered if EJ had invited all these former Salemites due to an ulterior motive. "Sami Brady? Is this an excuse for luring her back into town?" she asked. Gwen enjoyed taunting EJ with the knowledge that Sami snubbed him during Johnny's trial and he was in a coma when Sami was in Salem over the spring.
Gwen admitted she had always admired Sami, especially her ability to hold a grudge. "From what I've heard, she could hold a grudge longer than I can," Gwen laughed. "If the transgressions were really serious, yes, I'm all for a bit of bitterness," she said.
EJ angrily demanded that they stop talking about personal matters. EJ wanted to make sure that Gwen and Rita kept people away from the clinic during the gala as they "smuggled in supplies." Gwen told him they had a foolproof plan. Gwen had even fixed the issues with the power supply.
Gabi entered Theo's office at his request. He wanted to talk about divesting Gabi Chic, but he could also tell something was wrong. Gabi said she was still sad after her family had to give up Little T. She said she was happy to have work as a distraction.
Gabi was shocked when Theo said he didn't want to give Gabi her company outright. Theo thought that Tony made a mistake when he made an agreement with Gabi. Theo wanted to come to another agreement, but Gabi balked at the idea and asked if Tony knew of Theo's plans. Theo said that Tony was off the grid at the moment.
Later, Theo returned home to the DiMera mansion to find EJ and Gwen talking. Theo told EJ that he had made some phone calls about Tony and learned that there was no reason for Tony not to have re-boarded the cruise ship. That made his disappearance even more suspicious. EJ wasn't too worried and wanted to wait it out until Tony missed boarding at the next port.
Once Theo was gone, Gwen cleverly asked if EJ had anything to do with Tony's disappearance. After all, he was able to make Dimitri vanish into thin air.
In the Hernandez kitchen, Javi was in tears as he looked at pictures of his little girl who died, as well as the baby he was just forced to give up. When Gabi returned home, she noticed how sad her cousin was. She understood what he was going through.
"Although the whole family adored him, you and Leo were essentially his fathers," Gabi said. "I know that for you, letting him go...it has to bring back losing Solana."
Javi knew that Little T would be fine with his new family, but Gabi acknowledged that their hearts were broken and they'd miss him. "It's great that Johnny and Chanel have made you and Leo his godfathers," Gabi pointed out, trying to cheer Javi up, but it was to no avail. Javi was still crushed.
Javi changed the subject to Gabi and Gabi Chic. He was impressed that she had managed to get her company back. A guilty Gabi swore Javi to secrecy and told him all about spying on the Kiriakis brothers for the DiMeras. She did it to get the DiMera CEO spot, but Tony gave the position to Theo instead.
Then, Gabi dropped another bomb and told Javi she was now dating Philip Kiriakis. She worried that someone would tell Philip that she was spying on him and Xander for the enemy. Javi suggested that Gabi tell Philip the truth, but she balked at the idea.
