Rachel told Marlena about what she had said to Thomas about Cat. Rachel apologized to Thomas and Chad. Secretly, Rachel advised Thomas to use his leverage to force Cat to leave town like Rachel had done with Brady’s exes. Thomas told Chad that he could not forgive him until Cat left town. Despite Chad’s breakup with Cat, Jennifer told Chad that Thomas wanted to live with her.

Brady told Tate that Tate was not the father of Sophia’s baby. When Tate asked for details, Brady told Tate about Tesoro and the DNA tests. Tate rushed to the airport to plead for Holly to stay. When Holly heard the truth about the baby, she agreed to stay.

Cat told EJ about her breakup with Chad. EJ gave Cat a tour of the clinic. Cat took photos of the clinic safe room. Cat told Rafe about her breakup with Chad when she met up with him to show him the pictures of the clinic.

When EJ met up with Susan, she accidentally let it slip in front of Belle that Marlena had passed out during the blackout. Marlena stressed that she had been cleared by a doctor and was fine.

Tony told Gabi that he would not name her as CEO of DiMera Enterprises because Gabi had broken the morality clause when she had planned to shoot EJ. Tony gave Gabi Chic to Gabi as a consolation prize.

Theo accepted the job of CEO. Abe warned Theo not to take the job, but Theo stressed that he could make his own decisions. Gabi argued to Theo that he did not have the experience to be CEO, but she admitted that she believed he had integrity. Abe confided to Belle that he felt like he had let down Lexie by not stopping Theo from working at DiMera.

Theo objected to Abe’s volunteer work with his former bully. When Abe learned that Theo was CEO, Theo argued that he and Paulina had agreed that he could have an effect on the company rather than the other way around. Abe was furious with Paulina.

Philip was surprised that Tony had picked Theo to lead DiMera over Gabi. Gabi told Philip that Tony had given her Gabi Chic, but she did not tell him the real reason why. Gabi pointed out that since Philip was no longer her boss, they could be together. Philip took Gabi back to his hotel and they had sex.

Paulina spoke to CPS, and she convinced them to give Johnny and Chanel a second chance. The reassessment hinged on whether Sophia could confirm what she had done to undermine the adoption.

Xander and Sarah started couples therapy with Marlena. After Sarah talked about how she had betrayed Xander’s trust by lying to him because she feared he would react violently, Marlena asked why Sarah had believed that. Xander confessed that he had previously intended to harm Brady when he had believed Brady had hit Sarah with his car. After Xander confirmed that Brady was aware of Xander’s intent, Marlena maintained that she would not give up on counseling Xander.

Sophia pleaded with Melinda for help. Concerned, Melinda asked Sophia if she wanted to hurt Holly. Sophia said no. Sophia told Melinda that she had learned that Tate was not the father of her baby. Melinda urged Sophia to come clean, but Sophia refused. Panicked, Sophia ran away from home.

Tate told Aaron that he was not the father of Sophia’s baby. When Aaron looked shaken, Tate asked if he had a guess about the father. Aaron said he thought he might be the baby’s father. Aaron explained that Sophia had told him that he was definitely not the father. Tate was furious that Aaron had not told him that he could have been the father of Sophia’s baby when Sophia had learned that she was pregnant. Holly moved back into the dorms, and she told Ari about Sophia’s lies.

Foster’s son moved to Salem for a new job, and he decided to stay in town. Foster assured Julie that he did not want the bookstore back, and he was excited to see her changes. Julie offered Foster a part time job, and he accepted. Julie saw Cat in the store, and she went home to talk to Chad. Julie told Chad she was disappointed in him, and they fought.

Alex saw flowers in the trash, and he asked Stephanie about them. Stephanie told Alex about Jeremy’s visit. Alex was upset, but Stephanie assured him that Jeremy knew she had moved on. When Alex went out to pick up dinner, he ran into Jeremy. Alex warned Jeremy to stay away from Stephanie.

Jeremy went home, and he ran into a frustrated Chad after his fight with Julie. Jeremy advised Chad to be patient with the family because they had all made their own mistakes and would come around.

Leo interviewed EJ about the cause of the blackout. EJ gave a couple quotes. When Leo pitched alternate story suggestions, EJ flinched at the mention of his real shooter. EJ sidestepped the line of questioning, and he pitched an alternate story of Anastasia Sands real identity.

Leo asked Stephanie to comment on the revelation that she was Anastasia Sands, but he did not reveal his source. Stephanie suspected Jeremy was to blame. Stephanie made plans to reveal her identity as Anastasia Sands rather than let Leo drop the bombshell in the paper.

When Sophia failed to go home overnight, a panicked Amy went to see Holly. Tate explained that he was not the father of Sophia’s baby. Tate told Amy that baby Tesoro was Sophia’s baby. Brady intercepted Amy at the pub, and he offered his help. Brady enlisted Steve to track Sophia down. Steve confirmed that Sophia had used her phone in the pub at Midnight the night before. When Amy stepped outside, she slapped Johnny when she saw him.
