Jada and Jeremy settled in for the date at The Brady Pub. They made awkward small talk, typical of a first date via a dating app. Jeremy complimented Jada on her looks a few times. Jada spoke about men being intimidated when dating a cop. They soon became more comfortable while realizing all the things they had in common, including their love for anime.

Jada mentioned that when she and Stephanie were roommates, Stephanie hated it when Jada would watch anime. That's when Jeremy told Jada that he already knew Stephanie. Jeremy explained that he knew Stephanie in their early 20s, but Steph was not his biggest fan.

"Wait a minute. You're the old boyfriend that she was worried would come back into town," Jada deduced. Jeremy understood if Jada wanted to call it a night now. Instead, Jada decided to tell Jeremy all about Stephanie unknowingly dating her ex-husband. Jada thought that was enough to end their little date. The situation seemed too much like deja vu.

Stephanie prepared for her big night by trying on her mask when Alex walked in. He went on and on about the book launch and reveal while Stephanie remained silent. Alex could tell there was something bothering Stephanie, so he asked if something was wrong.

She told Alex that Jada was on a date with Jeremy, which had her worried. Alex wasn't worried at all. "This is the police commissioner. Jada's gonna see right through that creep in a hot minute," Alex declared.

Stephanie didn't think it was a coincidence that Jeremy matched with Jada and wondered if he planned it. She was sure he was trying to get under her skin. Stephanie was still convinced that Jeremy outed her secret identity, and now she was sure he was targeting her best friend.

Alex finally got Stephanie to tell him about the time Jeremy became so angry that he held her head under water in a hot tub as part of a drinking game gone wrong. "He only held my head under water for like a second, but it still scared me," Stephanie admitted.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Alex opened it to find Jada there and invited her in. She told them about her date with Jeremy. Alex and Stephanie told Jada that they didn't think it was a coincidence that the dating app matched Jada with Jeremy.

As for Jeremy, he was so angry that his date ended that he angrily threw a pumpkin to the floor when he was in the Square.

In their apartment, Aaron greeted Cat, wearing his costume, just as the DNA test results came in about Tesoro. Aaron couldn't stand to look, so Cat looked for him. She told a stunned Aaron that he was indeed a dad. Aaron had a hard time absorbing the information.

"I shouldn't even be surprised. When I found out that Tate wasn't the father, I just knew it had to be me. I just wish I could talk to Sophia through this, but that's not possible, obviously," Aaron said, before breaking down and crying that he didn't know what to do.

Cat explained to Aaron that he had rights as Tesoro's biological father and suggested she call child services. She sat with Aaron as he made the call and learned what his rights and responsibilities were as a father. Aaron couldn't believe that being irresponsible to have one night with Sophia made a brand-new life.

"I'm now the father of a baby that I have to give up because I made a mistake," Aaron marveled. Cat promised Aaron that she wasn't judging him and that she would be there for him.

When we next saw Aaron, he was hard at work trying to be a Salem Halloween tour guide outside The Brady Pub. That's where he ran into Leo, who was working on a story. Aaron introduced himself, but the second he said his name, Leo got a strange look on his face.

Aaron wondered if something was wrong. Leo told him, "You may be my foster son's biological father, is all." Aaron told him that he definitely was. "Have you decided what you're going to do?" Leo asked. Just then, Adam, Leo's jury duty, roommate, appeared as a member of the tour group.

Leo was less than pleased, but the group embarked on their ghost tour, remembering all the strange things that had happened in Salem through the years. Adam annoyed Leo throughout the whole thing. Aaron and Leo were especially alarmed when Adam wanted to check out the DiMera mausoleum. The rest of the group did not want to, so Adam went to do it himself. When he returned, he was sure the undead were watching them.

Amy sauntered into the DiMera living room at EJ's behest. She said she was not there because she was summoned. She just wanted to give EJ a piece of her mind. Amy described Sophia's current situation at Bayview. "Are you personally sorry for everything you've done to create this nightmare? Sophia's life is ruined because of you and that spoiled brat you call a son," Amy declared.

"I deeply regret that the adoption fell through, but I take full responsibility for my part in it," EJ admitted. He also told Amy that he called the lawyer that Melinda found, who gave Sophia her cover story. EJ pointed out that she was "there for Sophia when she couldn't turn to her own mother."

Amy became angry. "How dare you judge me!" she said. EJ claimed he wasn't judging. He was empathizing. "I know what it feels like to think you've done everything that you can for your child, and still they fail them when they need you the most," he said. "Rather than being at odds, maybe we can help one another," EJ suggested.

EJ tried to go to bat for Johnny and Chanel so they could adopt Tesoro. Amy said that she was carrying out Sophia's wishes, as she knew her daughter went to great lengths to keep Johnny and Chanel from adopting her baby. Ej wondered if Sophia was of sound mind and body when she took those actions.

EJ pointed out that Johnny gave up his chance to adopt last spring because he was going through a rough time and didn't think it was fair to become a father. EJ told Amy that Johnny put the baby before him before the baby was even born. He felt Johnny was ready to be a dad now.

"Well, good for him. He can pursue a different child," Amy snapped back. EJ wasn't done. "Sophia's problem wasn't really with Johnny. It was with me. So, please, don't punish him for my sins. I did this. I ruined everything. And I hate the pain that I caused Sophia and you. But knowing that I am the reason my son no longer has a chance to start a family of his own? I have no greater regret," EJ stated. He even offered to stay away from Johnny and the baby.

EJ continued: "It's too late for me and my son, but not for you and your daughter." He told her to devote her time and energy to Sophia.

After Amy left, EJ took a walk to the Square, where he ran into Cat. She told him that Aaron had just learned he was Tesoro's father. EJ asked that she persuade Aaron to sign over his parental rights.

A sad Chanel stared at the empty baby crib in her bedroom as Johnny entered the room. He asked her where her Halloween costume was, but she wasn't in the mood for a party at the bookstore. She wanted to just drop off the dessert order and call it a night.

Johnny attempted to comfort Chanel, but she said she wanted to take down the crib. Johnny thought they should wait a bit as he wasn't ready to give up on the adoption. "We can't lose hope. Social services is still reviewing our case, but Rafe basically proved that everything Sophia said about us was a lie," Johnny reasoned.

Chanel was still a wreck as she showed Johnny the costume she had bought, thinking that they would have their baby home with them by now. Johnny distracted Chanel with some time in bed. Chanel then decided not to take the crib down just yet.
