Holly interrupted Tate and Sophia’s intense conversation, and Sophia ran off. Tate was frustrated that Holly had kept him from getting answers about his child. Holly argued that Sophia was still pursuing Tate. Holly warned Tate that it would be harder to let go of his daughter if he met her, but Tate refused to give up.

Tate asked Sophia to hang out alone together in his dorm. Despite promising not to ask about the baby, Tate asked Sophia why she would not help him find her. Furious, Sophia accused Tate of leading her on. Tate panicked and kissed Sophia. Ari ran into Sophia as she left Tate’s dorm, and Sophia appeared flustered.

Sarah and Maggie were surprised to see Philip at Victoria’s birthday party. Xander and Philip explained their plan to secure the company by naming Philip formally as co-CEO. Sarah was suspicious, but Xander said that he wanted to preserve the company for the whole family and protect Victor’s legacy. Xander overheard Philip swear to Sarah that Xander had not beat him up but instead had saved his life. Xander told Sarah he was hurt that she had used their daughter’s birthday party to interrogate Philip about the assault.

After Xander and Philip left, Sarah confided to Maggie that regretted that she had not believed Philip sooner. Sarah argued that she had jumped to conclusions to justify her lying to Xander. Maggie asked Sarah if there was hope for Sarah and Xander, but Sarah noted that Xander was unlikely to forgive her betrayal.

Tony interrupted the Anastasia Sands press conference to announce that he had filed a lawsuit against Titan-DiMera for fraud. Tony advised Alex to make Xander and Philip settle the lawsuit rather than go to trial. Theo talked to Chad about the family business, but Chad said he was not interested in it. Tony asked Theo if he had thought about his proposal, but Theo said he still wanted to think about it.

Xander lashed out at Alex about the lawsuit, and he blamed him and Stephanie. Alex stormed out, then he took his anger out on Stephanie. Stephanie reminded Alex that Xander had failed to take her advice, but Alex countered that she should have told everyone about Philip’s fraud sooner. Frustrated, Alex walked out during their argument. Alex later apologized, and he promised not to run out on Stephanie in the future. Stephanie agreed to move in with Alex.

Thomas asked Chad about why his grandparents were worried about Cat. Chad explained that Cat had hurt the family, but only he had forgiven her. Thomas said he liked Cat. Chad stressed that he and Cat were only friends.

EJ asked Cat about the blueprints. Cat said she had knocked them over, but she did not know what they were. EJ told Cat about the free clinic, and he admitted he wanted to launder his and the family’s reputation. After EJ mentioned their auction date, EJ promised to keep her budding relationship with Chad a secret. EJ took Cat to dinner as a thank you. EJ said one of the reasons he liked her was because she would do anything to protect her family.

Sarah apologized for not having believed Xander about Philip’s beating. Sarah asked Xander for his forgiveness, and he agreed. When Sarah asked Xander to forgive her about the lie, she said she wanted Xander to trust her again so that they could repair their marriage. Sarah told Xander that since he was not the assailant, she wanted to try again.

In therapy, Xander told Marlena about his emotional progress and his desire to make amends with Philip. Marlena told Xander she was proud of him. Xander admitted he was hopeful that he would be able to forgive Sarah.

Marlena urged Brady not to let his anger at Kristen keep Rachel from her mother. Marlena offered to help Rachel visit Kristen regularly. Brady submitted Tesoro’s DNA for testing. Theo was unnerved to see JJ wearing a badge and a gun again. Concerned, Theo asked Jada to reconsider keeping JJ on as an officer. Theo explained that although he liked JJ as a person, he did not think he should ever be a cop again. Jada refused to fire JJ.

Chanel told Paulina about her adoption plans, and she asked her to put in a good word with CPS. Leo confided to Javi that he was terrified to say goodbye to Tesoro. Javi talked about Solana, and he admitted that he felt like he had abandoned her by moving away. Chanel told Leo and Javi that she and Johnny wanted to adopt the baby. Although heartbroken, the men approved of Chanel as a mother for Tesoro. Leo privately worried about Johnny as a dad. Javi warned Leo that they did not have a say in the adoptive parents, but Leo wanted to investigate anyway.

Kate went to see Tony, but only Anna was at the mansion. Anna guessed that Kate was there to protect Philip, and she admitted that Tony knew about the forged letter. Anna advised Kate to convince Philip to give back DiMera or else Philip would pay a price.

Tony offered Xander and Philip the choice of either a lengthy legal fight that would bankrupt Titan, or give back DiMera and take a payout for control of Titan. Xander demanded three times the market value of Titan for any buyout, and Tony agreed. Philip announced that they would consider the proposal. Tony ordered them to give him an answer within 24 hours or he would go to the press.
