Tate admitted to Brady that he had used Sophia’s feelings for him to get her to open up. Brady told Tate that it had been wrong for Tate to kiss Sophia to extract information from her. Tate agreed that he had not thought his actions through.

Ari told Sophia that she had not said anything to Holly about Sophia’s visit to Tate’s room. Ari argued if Sophia had slept with Tate, she needed to tell Holly. Holly overheard Sophia mention Tate, and Sophia confessed that she had hooked up with Tate in his dorm. Holly was furious that Ari had not told her, but Ari explained what had happened.

Johnny worried that the trouble at Titan-DiMera would cost him his job and jeopardize the adoption. Chanel assured Johnny that her bakery proved they had a stable income. After Paulina put in a good word with the head of social services, Chanel was hopeful about the adoption. Sophia overheard Chanel and Johnny talk about adopting Tesoro.

Sophia complained to Melinda about Johnny and Chanel’s adoption plans. Melinda reminded Sophia that she did not get a say in the adoption because she had surrendered her baby. Sophia vowed to punish Johnny. Sophia sent an anonymous letter to child services saying that Johnny was involved with a student.

Tate asked Holly to talk, but she punched him instead. Holly dumped Tate. Holly drank with Ari to forget her breakup, but the party ended when Holly’s computer crashed. Sophia spiked Holly’s drink and took pictures of her passed out.

Sarah informed Marlena that the tests she had run for a tick born illness had been negative. Marlena admitted that she had been feeling better. Sarah thanked Marlena for helping Xander with his anger. Sarah admitted that she felt like she could reconcile with Xander. Marlena recommended couples therapy. Sarah asked Xander if he was open to couples therapy. Xander was hesitant because they were doing better.

Maggie confronted Tony about his lawsuit against her family’s company. Tony refused to back off, and he urged Maggie to convince Xander and Philip to take the deal he had offered rather than go to trial. Xander, Philip, Alex, and Brady met to discuss a path forward. Brady considered the Titan to be a curse, and he recommended that they take the deal. When the group began to squabble, Maggie intervened. Maggie argued that they should work together to save Victor’s legacy rather than fight one another over it.

Stephanie confessed to her mother that she had reservations about moving in with Alex. Kayla advised Stephanie to be herself and stay out of her head. Kayla discovered press info for Anastasia Sands. Stephanie refused to reveal Anastasia’s identity.

Theo told Paulina that Tony had offered him an executive position at DiMera. Paulina argued that Theo would be a good influence on DiMera Enterprises. Abe started tutoring a young man named Liam. Theo told Abe that Liam had bullied him in high school, but he gave Abe his blessing to help Liam.

Julie closed on her purchase of the bookstore. Foster passed out because of his kidney disease. Foster wanted to skip dialysis, so Kayla recommended other treatment. While at the hospital with Foster, Julie told Stephanie that Jeremy Horton had moved back to Salem.

Chad and Cat discussed how to pull their relationship out of the shadows without fully going public with it. Complicating matters, the prison board granted Mark’s parole and release. Chad worked with Cat on the gala. Chad informed Cat that Jennifer would be in town to write about the clinic for the paper.

EJ agreed to name the free clinic after Tom Horton. Stephanie suggested that EJ throw a black-tie gala to celebrate the opening of the clinic. Stephanie asked Julie to get the Horton clan to attend the gala. EJ assured Gwen that no one knew the true purpose of their new free clinic. EJ asked Gwen to bribe the electrician to steal electricity for the clinic. Belle and Marlena discussed their concerns about John’s donation to University Hospital because of EJ. Belle discussed her concerns with EJ in the hospital elevator.

While Gwen waited to make the payment, there was a city-wide blackout. Gwen was trapped in the clinic. EJ and Belle were trapped in the hospital elevator. Across town, Chad and Cat made out by candlelight in her apartment.

Sarah stayed at Xander’s during the blackout because she could not get her car out of the garage. EJ and Belle were trapped in the hospital elevator. Chad spent the night with Cat. Gwen panicked when she was trapped in the clinic. Chanel waited with Felicity in the square because it was not safe to drive with the stoplights out. Stephanie took advantage of the generator at the hospital to run the online Q&A session for her book. At the generator lit Kiriakis mansion, Bonnie watched the Q&A session online. After the Q&A, a mysterious figure followed Stephanie around.

Philip, Brady, and Gabi were trapped at the Titan-DiMera offices during the blackout. Brady appeared to take note of the flirtatious vibe between Philip and Gabi. Philip told Gabi that they had decided to return DiMera to Tony, but they had not reached a decision about selling Titan to Tony. Gabi slipped away to update Tony by phone.

Sarah was unable to get her car out of Xander’s garage because of the power outage, so Xander invited her to stay the night. After some discussion, Xander agreed to go to couples therapy. Xander and Sarah apologized to one another for having kept Victoria away from the other. Xander and Sarah kissed, then made love.
