What happened on Days of our Lives

At the hospital, a frazzled Stephanie used her mother’s office to run the online Q&A session to publicize her book. “I just hope my mom doesn’t walk in and see me answering questions as Anastasia Sands,” Stephanie said. Alex assured Stephanie that Kayla had her hands full running the hospital during the blackout. Alex left to get dinner while Stephanie worked.
The first question to Anastasia was about whether any of the sexual events in the book were true to her life. Stephanie answered that she had a healthy sex life and imagination. “Which is which, I’ll never tell,” Stephanie wrote.
In the square, Chanel sat with Felicity as they waited for the blackout to end. Felicity wanted to go home, but Chanel pointed out that with the traffic lights out, it was not safe to drive. Chanel pulled out a bag of unused light up trinkets from the Fourth of July out of the bakery to amuse her and Felicity while they waited. Alex passed through, and he suggested they walk over to the pub together.
At the pub, Roman confirmed his gas stove was working and that he had a freezer of ice cream to empty. While Alex, Chanel, and Felicity waited, Chanel noted that Felicity had said she wanted to go to a rave. Alex suggested they hold one at the table. Chanel, Alex, and Felicity danced around the pub with glow sticks to rave music until they were tired. Alex and Chanel admitted that they missed hanging out with one another on the soap opera set, but that they were glad that chapter of their lives was over.
Chanel said that Johnny was at home, working to finish preparing their apartment for the social services visit. “I heard you’re trying to adopt again,” Roman said as he arrived with the food. “Chanel’s gonna be the greatest mama ever,” Felicity said. Alex agreed.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Bonnie excitedly told Maggie how happy she was that the mansion had a generator so that she would not miss out on the online Q&A with Anastasia Sands. Maggie admitted that she had not read “One Stormy Night.” Bonnie giggled as she read through Anastasia’s Q&A.
At the hospital, Stephanie answered a question about whether the incident in Chapter 14 had been based on a real story. Stephanie thought about when she had told Alex that she was fearful that her ex would realize that it was about him. Panicked, Stephanie answered the question by saying that the events in Chapter 14 were entirely made up.
After the Q&A concluded, someone knocked on Kayla’s office door. No one was there. As Stepanie walked to the square, she felt the presence of someone following her. A mysterious figure with a bouquet of flowers hid behind a tree.
“Is someone there?” Stephanie called out. Alex arrived and asked what was wrong.. “I thought there was someone behind me,” Stephanie said. Alex looked around, but he saw no one. As Alex and Stephanie left arm in arm, the figure returned, and he threw his bouquet of flowers in the trash.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Bonnie told Maggie that although she was disappointed that Anastasia’s next book would not be a romance, she was still eager to read it. Bonnie asked about the fight with Tony. Maggie stressed that the family would figure out a way to save Titan. Bonnie admitted she was happy to see the fiery side of Maggie again. Maggie said she was not officially back at Titan, but there to show a united front.
“If you manage to hold on to Titan, I think you should consider stepping back into a leadership role,” Bonnie said. Maggie confessed that she had considered it. Maggie said she had backed off so that Xander and Philip could become a team, but she wanted to return to work. Maggie vowed to do everything she could to save Victor’s legacy.
Philip was working in the Titan offices by flashlight when Brady arrived with Gabi. “I didn’t think anyone was still here. You two should go home,” Philip said. Gabi explained that the parking garage gate would not open because of the power outage. “Looks like we’re all stuck here,” Gabi said.
Gabi and Brady cleared out the snacks from Gabi’s office. As Gabi and Philip shared a playful exchange over a bag of chips, Brady raised a suspicious eyebrow. Philip asked about the kids, and Brady and Gabi reported that Rachel and Ari were safe. “I can’t believe my great niece is in college. How is she liking it?” Philip asked. Gabi reported that Ari was fine with college, but more excited about the internship that Kate had promised her. Gabi asked if they had any information on the status of the company since Tony’s lawsuit.
”We might as well bring her in the loop,” Brady said. “We’re going to settle the lawsuit with Tony to keep it from going to court,” Philip said. Philip noted that they had no choice but to give DiMera back to Tony. “I’m sorry to hear that. So what does that mean for Titan?” Gabi asked. Philip swore Gabi to secrecy, and he told her that Tony had made an offer for Titan. Brady noted that the offer was still being discussed.
While Brady stepped outside to take a call from Julie, Philip asked Gabi how she felt. With a shrug, Gabi noted that whatever happened, she was forced to go with whomever got DiMera. “Which means Tony will be your new boss,” Philip said. Philip noted that they would no longer be co-workers and could date.
Before Gabi could respond, Brady returned. “What’d I miss?” Brady asked. Philip stammered that they had been talking about the fact that they would no longer be coworkers. Gabi asked if Basic Black would stay with Titan. Brady nodded yes.
“Will you stay at Basic Black?” Gabi asked Brady. “What’s she talking about?” Philip asked. Brady attempted to avoid the question, but Philip urged Brady to come clean. Brady admitted that he had been contemplating leaving the company, but that he would not do that until the war with Tony was over.
“After that?” Philip asked. “I’m not sure,” Brady admitted. Gabi left the office so that Brady could talk privately with Philip. “I feel like I wanna do something more,” Brady said. “I get that. But for what it’s worth, I hope you decide to stay,” Philip said. Brady asked why.
“When Maggie was talking about family, I sort of took it to heart. It might be nice for us all to be working together and actually getting along,” Philip said. Brady noted that they would eventually resume fighting one another. Philip disagreed. “When the hell did you become an optimist?” Brady asked. Philip explained that he wanted to be a better person.
”I’d like the chance for us to improve our relationship,” Philip said. “I think I’d like that too,” Brady admitted. Brady asked Philip what was the plan to save Titan. “I’m not sure the company is financially sound enough to stand on its own,” Philip said. Philip noted that maybe Brady had been right, and they should let Titan go.
In the hallway, Gabi called Tony and told him that Xander and Philip had agreed to undo the merger and return DiMera Enterprises. “No, I’m not sure what they plan on doing with Titan,” Gabi said.
Xander was pacing in his bedroom when Sarah entered to inform him that Victoria was asleep. Sarah promised that she and Victoria would leave as soon as the garage was able to open, but Xander encouraged Sarah to stay the night since Victoria had already fallen asleep.
“So what should we do?” Xander asked. Sarah told Xander that she had pushed him into therapy because she had wrongly believed he had beaten Philip up. “You were right to urge me to go to therapy, regardless. My anger has been getting in the way of our happiness for years,” Xander admitted. Xander stressed that he wanted to work on his relationship with Sarah. “I just think doing that with a neutral third party might be the best way of going about it,” Sarah said. Xander disagreed.
”Don’t you think if we would have been able to work on things, just the two of us, we would have already done it?” Sarah asked. Sarah noted that because of Victoria, there was too much at stake not to do everything they could to work on their relationship. When Xander continued to resist, Sarah reminded Xander that he had believed therapy was a waste of time until he had started working with Marlena. “So maybe it’ll make us better as a couple,” Sarah said. Xander agreed.
Xander gathered supplies to make s’mores. When Sarah commented that Rachel had named her snake s’mores, Xander chuckled. “Do you think she’d continue to be that quirky if we’d continued to raise her?” Xander asked. “I don’t know. We both certainly have our quirks,” Sarah said. Xander noted that it was evident that Sarah still cared a lot about Rachel.
“I’ve been thinking about her a lot,” Xander admitted. Xander said that although he did not like Kristen, he felt for her having to be separated from her daughter. “That’s why I’m so sorry for trying to keep Victoria from you,” Xander said. “I’m sorry that I tried to do the same,” Sarah countered. Sarah and Xander both agreed that they were glad that they had worked things out.
Xander and Sarah managed to make s’mores with a candle, and Sarah teased Xander about the food stuck to his chin. Sarah called Xander dopey as she wiped his chin. “I’ve missed you calling me dopey,” Xander said. “I missed a lot of things,” Sarah said. Xander kissed Sarah. They paused for a moment, then kissed passionately, and started to undress one another. After the two made love, they admitted that they did not regret it.
