Days of our Lives newcomer Al Caderon is leaving Salem and Javi Hernandez behind already, according to Deadline.
Days of our Lives' Al Calderon lands new gig

Calderon, who debuted as Javi Hernandez on October 28, 2024, will still be seen in Salem for quite a while. Thanks to the soap's long taping lead time, Calderon will appear as Javi until May of next year. After that, the role of Javi will be recast.
"We do not comment on the contract status of our actors, but fans should not worry, Javi is alive and well in Salem," a Days of our Lives rep explained.
News broke on July 29th that Calderon had landed a series regular gig on season 2 of Brilliant Minds. DAYS fans can catch the actor playing Nurse Scotty Silva, known as the mayor of Bronx General, the hospital where the action takes place.
Another medical role for Calderon

When Javi was first introduced to the Salem scene last fall, he quickly fell for Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), but Leo accused him of hacking into his computer and leaking Body and Soul spoilers to the Salem Spectator. When Leo learned he was wrong, Javi and Leo became an official pair. We only recently started learning about the character.
At first, Javi found a job as Gabi's (Cherie Jimenez) personal assistant, but when Gabi became too demanding, Javi quit and revealed his true passion. Fans were shocked when Javi suddenly saved Sarah's life in Horton Town Square when she had an allergic reaction to nuts that were in her Sweet Bits scone. Javi admitted that he was once an EMT in Texas, but left the job after a harrowing incident.
Javi is now an EMT in Salem who found a baby who was left at the firehouse. Javi and Leo are now taking care of little Tesoro as Rafe (Galen Gering) and the Hernandez clan foster the infant. Little do they know that Tesoro is really Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia's (Rachel Boyd) baby. When Sophia eventually wants to take her baby back (we all know it's coming), Javi and Leo are going to be heartbroken as they have become attached to him.
Clearly, there is a lot of story still left to tell until Calderon leaves the Salem airwaves next spring.
