After making her Days of our Lives debut last spring, Madelyn Kientz has aired for the very last time as Sophia Choi.
Days of our Lives' Madelyn Kientz exits soap

Kientz burst onto the Salem scene in 2024 as Holly Jonas' BFF. Thanks to Holly and Sophia both having a thing for Tate, their friendship quickly turned into a rivalry. That rivalry will soon continue with another actress in the role.

On February 12, Rachel Boyd will begin airing as Sophia while the character tries to navigate her teenage pregnancy, according to TV Insider. Boyd's previous credits include the TV series Grand Army, the TV movie He's Not Worth Dying For, and the feature film Boot Camp.
Before landing in the soap world, Kientz appeared in a variety of television series, including The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Walker, and Big Sky. There is no word on why Kientz left DAYS, leading to a Sophia recast. However, the once supporting character is now in a major story with long-lasting consequences.
What will Sophia do next?

During her time on DAYS, Kientz has taken Sophia from a manipulative teen to a girl who has found herself pregnant before she was ready. Sophia's heart was broken when she realized that Tate (Leo Howard) was still in love with Holly (Ashley Puzemis), so she broke things off.
She never expected to learn she was pregnant from the few times she and Tate had sex. He had used a condom, but sometimes condoms don't work. Sophia and Tate learned that the hard way.
On Kientz's final DAYS episode, Sophia seemed desperate not to have the raise the child she was carrying. As a high school senior, she is just not ready to be a mother yet, and Tate is not ready to be a father. She suggested to Tate that they give the baby up for adoption without her mother's approval since she would turn 18 during the pregnancy.
Tate had another idea. Rather than going through an agency and giving the baby to strangers, he suggested finding a couple who wanted a child and getting to know them. Sophia hopes her mother will go along with the plan, but so far, Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) has been unrelenting in her quest to force her teenage daughter to raise a child she's not ready for.
