Days of our Lives' Chad is going to get a brand-new face when The Young and the Restless star Conner Floyd makes the move to Salem.
A new Chad is in store on Days of our Lives
According to Deadline, Floyd reported for duty at the DAYS studios on June 23rd, ready to make his mark in Salem as Stefano DiMera's (Joseph Mascolo) youngest son. The role is currently being played by Billy Flynn, who made his Y&R debut last week in the role of Aristotle Dumas, aka Cane Ashby.
When the Y&R casting news was announced, Flynn told TV Insider: "I am grateful for my years at DAYS; it changed my life in the best ways. I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I’m excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way."
With DAYS' advanced taping schedule, we can expect to see Flynn as Chad for several more months and Floyd debuting in the role in 2026. Currently, Chad is at the start of a romance with AnnaLynn McCord's Cat Greene. How far will this romance go before the casting change takes place next year?
What we know about the new Chad
Floyd made his soap debut in 2021 as Y&R's Chance Chancellor, grandson of Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), and son of Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) and Philip Chancellor (Thom Bierdz). Since Floyd took over as Chance, the character was married to Abby (Melissa Ordway), had a romance with Sharon (Sharon Case), and another romance with Summer (Alison Lanier). Before becoming Chance, Floyd appeared in the TV movie Malicious Motives.
While Floyd's status with Y&R remains up in the air, he will have a lot to do when he gets to DAYS. Chad is a pivotal character who was one half of the Salem supercouple known as Chad and Abby. He is often the voice of reason in the DiMera clan, but is still mourning his wife while raising his kids in the Horton House.
