Days of our Lives Spoilers, June 1: Marlena says goodbye to her beloved John

Get your Kleenex ready, folks, cause this is it. After nearly 40 years of being one of Salem's most beloved couples, Jarlena will end as Marlena (Deidre Hall) lies next to her husband and tells him that it's okay to let go.

She knows he is suffering and in pain. Marlena can't stand to see him like that anymore and just wants John (the late Drake Hogestyn) to find peace. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) does her best to comfort Marlena, but she needs comforting herself and turns to Steve.

As Steve and Kayla deal with the enormity of what is about to happen, they take a trip down memory lane and remember good times with John and Marlena. DAYS has been blessing us with incredible flashbacks for over a week, so we expect to see more on Monday when there won't be a dry eye in the house.

At least it looks like John won't die in vain. He walked into that meth lab to play hero and get the miracle drug that would save Bo Brady's (Peter Reckell) life. John's mission was accomplished, and Bo got the drug just as the priest was going to say his last rites.

It's been a waiting game for Hope (Kristian Alfonso) ever since, as she has sat vigil by Bo's side. The infection has started to wane, but it's a question of how his organs fared with the sepsis. Can the damage repair itself?

While Hope prays for Bo to wake, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) join her, but there is also a lot going on inside a comatose Bo's head. He has an encounter with his late son, Zack (Brandon Butler). Is it Zack who convinces Bo to fight on and return to Hope after all these years?

It's been almost a decade since Bo seemingly took his very last breath in Hope's arms, right in the spot where they shared their first kiss back in 1983. Hope has sat by Bo's bedside since 2023, willing him to wake. Is it finally about to happen?
