Days of our Lives Spoilers, May 1: Shawn has a big idea to save Bo Brady

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) did her best to get Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Dietz) to give her access to the new drug he's been developing to fight sepsis. Sadly, it was still too early to use it, and Dr. Russell refused to hand his work over. He also didn't even want to work for Salem University Hospital anymore, which left Kayla in a bind. However, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) is not about to give up.

Shawn is the one who got his father into this situation, and he is determined to get him out of it. If he hadn't acted impulsively two years ago and shot his father, then Bo (Peter Reckell) would be home with them in Salem and not in a coma in Greece. Now, he has sepsis and is fighting for his life. The only way to save him is by using Dr. Russell's new drug.

Knowing they can't get their hands on it the legit way, Shawn decides he is going to have to steal it and enlists Steve's (Stephen Nichols) help to do so. Shawn doesn't seem to care that he would be a cop breaking the law, since Salem cops do that all the time. Will Steve be game? Bo has been his best friend since they were merchant marines decades ago. If Steve can't save John, then maybe he can make up for things and save Bo.

Both Xander (Paul Telfer) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) hate the fact that they have to play nice with Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) for the sake of the DiMera Enterprises takeover. They know if family strife became public, all their work would have been for nothing. However, they don't want to work with their duplicitous relative, so they need to come up with a plan.

When Xander and Alex put their heads together, are they trying to find a way to oust Philip from the company with minimal damage? Philip is already clashing with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), which could cause even more trouble. Perhaps Philip, Xander, and Alex all need a mediator to help them try to get along and let bygones be bygones, but that would be a little too easy.
