Days of our Lives Spoilers, May 28: Carrie Brady arrives in Salem

John's (the late Drake Hogestyn) grandchildren are devastated to learn about his condition. Tate (Leo Howard) woke, anxious to hear all about Grandpa John's ISA adventures in Estonia, while Johnny (Carson Boatman) was surprised by the frantic messages on his phone. Now, a girl who once thought of him as dad arrives in Salem, hoping she is not too late.

Carrie Brady (Christie Clark) once believed John was her father when he thought he was Roman Brady. He raised her with love for several years, and the affection they felt for one another never died. As soon as Marlena (Deidre Hall) calls to let her know about John, she hops on a flight and prays she can get a chance to say goodbye, while still supporting Marlena.

John's condition is getting increasingly worse, and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) is not sure if he is going to be able to hang on. It's crucial that more loved ones get to Salem ASAP if they are going to have final moments with him. John has survived so much, but it doesn't look like he's going to be able to survive this.

Rachel's confession

While Johnny is happy to be back with Chanel (Raven Bowens) in their own place, he is still haunted by the truth of his conception and the night that EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) was shot. He still insists he is not the culprit, but it's clearer than ever that he is keeping another secret about that fateful evening. That causes him to run away from his problems.

Rachel (Alice Halsey) knows what that secret is and tells her mother. She heard fighting the night that Uncle EJ was shot and saw Johnny in the living room with a gun. It's why Rachel freaks out every time that EJ's shooting is mentioned.

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) didn't realize that her daughter saw and heard so much, but will she use the information she now has to help Rachel or use it to her advantage? After all, Uncle EJ might not want his son to go to jail...
