Days of our Lives Spoilers, November 5: Celebrations, surprises, and heartbreak on baby day

What to expect on Days of our Lives

It's a big day for Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) as they get the baby they have waited so long for. The Hernandez clan, plus honorary member Leo (Greg Rikaart), says a bittersweet goodbye to the little boy they have been taking care of all these months.

While Leo and Javin find solace and comfort with one another, Johnny and Chanel have an awkward encounter with EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). He promised Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) he would stay out of everyone's lives if she put in a good word for Johnny and Chanel, but did she do it or was it Aaron's (Louis Tomeo) good word that did the trick?

There is still a lot of tension between Johnny and EJ, a father and son pair that has had an extremely rough year. However, if EJ thinks that this happened because of his conversation with Amy the other day, he will be more aloof than Johnny expects. Will EJ even tell his son he tried to make this adoption happen, or will he leave well enough alone?

Before Johnny and Chanel bring their son home, grandmothers Paulina (Jackee Harry) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) get their apartment ready for a family celebration. The two happy women share memories of their respective families and look toward the future.

After Belle (Martha Madison) declares that Johnny and Chanel are officially parents, they bring the baby home, but give him a new name that has similarities to his old name. They are going to call the baby formerly known as Tesoro, Tre. But that is just his nickname. His real name is John III, with "Tre" meaning "the third" in Spanish.

Marlena is touched that the young couple is naming their new son after her recently passed husband, John Black (the late Drake Hogestyn). Johnny already has his name, but now he will live on with a whole new generation.

At the Hernandez house, the family tries to pick up the pieces, with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) poking fun at Ari (Marissa Reyes), but the sadness is all around.
