DAYS marks 15,000 episodes this week while it also ushers in the end of an era. Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is forced to say goodbye to her beloved Doug as his family, friends, and loved ones from the past gather in Salem to remember an iconic character played by the legendary Bill Hayes.

Expect flashbacks galore as the citizens of Salem remember good times with Doug and all the joy he brought them with his quick wit and his love for music. One could always count on Doug to belt out a tune or hum a little melody.
Doug's memorial on Tuesday will coincide with the soap's milestone 15,000th episode, bringing current Salemities together and past Salemites home to be a comfort to Julie during the hardest time of her life.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) make their way back to Salem and leave Bo (Peter Reckell) behind, but you can expect to see all three back next spring when it seems Bo will finally open his eyes.
Old Faces in Familiar Places
Julie also welcomes her brother, Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer), back to Salem. He hasn't been seen in more than four decades but he surprises his sister by climbing to her bedroom window like old times in the Horton house.
Marlena is thrilled to see her old friend, Liz (Gloria Loring). However, Liz and Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham) have a bit of a tense reunion. As longtime fans may recall, Liz and Marie fought over Neil Curtis (Joe Gallison). When Neil married Marie thinking Liz was back with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), Liz fought to get him back and accidentally shot Marie when she thought she was an intruder in Neil's house one night.
A miracle from Ciara
Since spring, Julie has been determined to open that box full of memories they found in the attic after the fire. Julie felt the box was sent from above, but it had been locked and nobody could unlock it.
Somehow Ciara (Victoria Konefal) manages to get the job done, thrilling Lucas (Bryan R. Dattilo), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and Shawn. What treasures will they find and will it lead them to another mystery?
