Days of our Lives Spoilers, September 17: Another chance for Xander and Sarah?

What to expect on Days of our Lives

The events at Victoria's birthday party ended up being a big surprise for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). Xander (Paul Telfer) was sweet and charming, he and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) seemed to be getting along as brothers, and Philip seemed genuinely sincere when he told Sarah that Xander wasn't the one who attacked him.

All of that gave Sarah food for thought. When she sees Xander at the hospital the next day, she tells him that she owes him an apology. She was wrong to jump to the conclusion that Xander tried to kill his own brother. Xander knows that is indeed what he tried to do, so will he feel guilty when Sarah comes to him with her tail between her legs?

Xander still loves Sarah and is angry that she lied to him about the letter, but what he did was so much worse, and he might not be able to reconcile with Sarah and live with the guilt. Is Sarah about to be in for a huge surprise if Xander still acts cold and doesn't seem to accept her apology?

DNA dilemmas

Now that Rafe (Galen Gering) has produced a sample of Tesoro's DNA, it's time to test it against Tate's (Leo Howard) and see if Tesoro really is Tate and Sophia's baby. Brady (Eric Martsolf) is sure that his theory is right, and he will finally get the answers he's been looking for.

Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Brady take the DNA sample to Kayla and ask her if she can run the test as discreetly as possible. Brady is determined to make sure that Tate has peace of mind that his child is safe. Imagine if the DNA test produces a big surprise.

Brady also has to deal with Rachel's (Alice Halsey) heartache over being separated from her mother. Marlena (Deidre Hall) is particularly concerned about Rachel and urges Brady to protect the little girl at all costs. Brady notices that Marlena has been acting strangely about the Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) situation since Kristen first confessed, but he doesn't seem to suspect that Marlena knows a big secret.
