Days of our Lives Spoilers, September 22: Sophia has another trick up her sleeve

Sophia (Rachel Boyd) is a puzzling character who it's sometimes hard to feel bad for because of her immaturity. She cares about her baby and what happens to him, but she also isn't above playing dirty to get what she wants. She's ready to play another trick on an unsuspecting Holly (Ashley Puzemis) now that Tate (Leo Howard) has kissed her, but not before she seems to get some fascinating info.

After talking with her new film professor, Sophia overhears Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) talking about adopting the firehouse baby. Sophia realizes this could be her dream come true, as she wanted Johnny and Chanel to have her baby from the start, but they backed out when she least expected it. That's how her baby ended up at the firehouse.

Johnny and Chanel worry about their chances of becoming this much-wanted baby's adoptive parents. After all, he backed out the last time, and it might not look good to child services. Paulina (Jackee Harry) is even worried. However, Sophia looks like she has a plan to make sure her child ends up with Johnny and Chanel.

Meanwhile, Tate is down in the dumps because his plan to get information out of Sophia was a bust, plus he is on the outs with Holly now. He laments his situation to Brady (Eric Martsolf), who urges him to reach out to Holly and make things right.

Tate is not sure how to handle things because he knows he made a mess of his relationship and still doesn't know where his baby is. He knows he shouldn't have snapped at Holly, but being in the dark and worrying about his child is taking its toll on Tate.

At the hospital, Rafe (Galen Gering) brings Tesoro in for a checkup, and of course, doctor-of-all-trades Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) takes care of the tyke. Sarah knows exactly who this baby is, but can't say due to doctor-patient confidentiality. Does it even matter because Rafe is also pretty sure who gave birth to the little boy? He is also not saying.
