What to expect on Days of our Lives

As the beloved long-running soap turns 60, Salemites gather for a gala to remember Dr. Tom Horton (the late Macdonald Carey), the former chief of staff of University Hospital, as well as a town hero the town square was named for. That means Tom's last living child returns to Salem. Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham) arrives to spend time with her niece Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and ends up being interviewed by Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate (Leo Howard) for their film project.

However, Marie is not the only returnee this week, as Salem celebrates the Hortons. You will also see Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow), Will Horton (Chandler Massey), Lucas Horton (Bryan R. Dattilo), Steven Olson (Stephen Schnetzer), and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), to name a few.

Sami has big news

Sami (Alison Sweeney) reunites with both of her sons when she makes her third return to Salem this year. She was there in the spring after EJ (Daniel Feurriegel) was shot, and made her way back to spend one day with her mother after John (the late Drake Hogestyn) died.

When Sami and Will see each other for the first time in ages at The Brady Pub, he spots a ring on his mom's finger and realizes that Sami is engaged. Sami is in town to deliver that news, but also to meet her new grandson, Trey.

Danger alert and a big night

Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) has a big week that starts with shock and fear after Thomas (Cary Christopher) is in a terrible accident. Chad (Billy Flynn) and Jennifer wait for news about Thomas' condition, but it appears he must not be in serious condition since Jennifer is able to make the big gala later in the week and give a speech.

Oddly enough, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is back on the scene this week, but she is still in her Statesville attire. She appears to have been blindfolded and kidnapped, which is rather odd for someone who is in prison. Does this mean Kristen will soon make it back to Salem to reunite with Rachel (Alice Halsey)? It's not like she belongs in prison this time anyway.
