Days of our Lives star Eric Martsolf suffers a personal loss 

Brady Black is busy being both father and mother to his daughter, Rachel, on Days of our Lives as he helps her navigate a challenging time. Brady's portrayer, Eric Martsolf, is going through a real-life personal loss, too. The actor's wife, Lisa, is sharing news of a beloved family member that's crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Days of our Lives, sweet Sophie

"Sweet Sophie Bear…you were simply PERFECTION," Lisa Martsolf posted on her Instagram account, "21 years of sunrises and sunsets…isn’t enough. 💔 Thank you, sweet girl, for being the gem of our family, protecting our boys, showering unconditional love, the warmest snuggles, and gifting us every inch of the best of you, every day for 19 years.

"Run with Jagger, sweet girl, and until we meet you at the 🌈 bridge…know you have left the most incredible, loving, sweetest but giant paw print 🐾 on our hearts. Our little family will not be the same without your beautiful, gentle spirit.

"You will be Furever loved🐾 Missed Everyday," Lisa Martsolf added.

DAYS, daytime, and show business pals have reached out to the Martsolf family with sympathy. "So sorry," shared Stacy Haiduk (Kristen/Susan). Added pet advocate Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, The Young and the Restless), "I'm so sorry, it's never easy. What an angel."

"I’m so sorry for the loss of your precious Sophie💔praying for all of you and sending lots of love," shared Jodi Benson (Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3).

While Martsolf and his family are dealing with the loss of their loved Sophie, Brady maintains his position as a frontburner character on Days of our Lives. Brady is not only taking care of Rachel (Alice Halsey) and is her sole provider as Kristen, Rachel's mom, has been sentenced to jail, but Brady is also keenly aware that there's more to Sophia's (Rachel Boyd) story about giving up Brady's grandchild for adoption than meets the eye.

Brady picked up on the fact that Sophia referred to the baby, fathered by Tate (Leo Howard), Brady's son, as a boy when it's believed the infant was a girl. Plus, Brady noticed that the photo of the baby and her "adoptive parents" were from a stock photo of a family that could be found on the Internet.

What's going on? Brady's deteremined to get to the bottom of the situation so that the truth comes out!
