Days of our Lives is accomplishing a feat only two other daytime dramas have ever done. One of the show's most popular stars, Martha Madison, who plays Belle Black, is paying tribute to the Peacock series that has meant so much to her and to others over the years!

On Saturday, Days of our Lives will celebrate its 60th anniversary with nearly 15,500 episodes having aired since 1965," Madison shared on Facebook. "It has been the honor and privilege of my career to have been a part of this TV history for more than a third of that time. I feel incredibly lucky to work with this team, as well as the countless others who've passed through those Burbank doors since 2004.

"Like sands through the hourglass - make sure you subscribe to Peacock because there's plenty more of these crazy stories to come!" Madison previews. "#Days #Days60."

Madison joined the show in 2004, following the exit of Kirsten Storms (Maxie, General Hospital), who had played the part since 1999. (History buffs recall that Charity Rahmer played the party briefly in between Storms and Madison.)

Belle was created by the late head writer James E. Reilly, conceived when Marlena (Deidre Hall) betrayed her marriage vows with Roman (Wayne Northrup) and slept with John Black (Drake Hogestyn). Belle's drama began shortly after birth when she was kidnapped by her own sister, Sami (Alison Sweeney)!

Belle went through a case of S.O.R.A.S (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) following her birth in 1993. Some feel her great romance with Shawn (Brandon Beemer) was pre-destined, given that her parents are John and Marlena, and his are Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso).

Madison earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019. The actress was a standout as Belle went up against family members when Marlena was in a coma. Belle, an attorney, was charged with acting as her mom's voice as the storyline shone a light on death with dignity. Ironically, it wasn't even Marlena in that hospital bed but rather her doppelganger, Hattie Adams (also played by Hall).

In more recent years, Belle has split from Shawn, and she's gone up against EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), a fellow Days of our Lives attorney. Belle and EJ's courtroom banter has spilled over into their personal lives. However, Belle and EJ are at odds -- for now.
