Marlena (Deidre Hall) has a very busy week as she does what she can to help exonerate Johnny (Carson Boatman). At Belle's (Martha Madison) behest, she hypnotizes EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) to see what he can remember about the shooting before the trial begins. EJ seems disturbed by what he sees, but he also appears to want to block it all from his mind.

However, what happens as the trial gets underway is even more disturbing. Marlena passes out, which means there may be something much more wrong with her than just exhaustion.

Ari (Marissa Reyes) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) do their best to find their own way out of their sticky kidnapping situation, but something seems to go terribly wrong. Do they rescue themselves or does someone else rescue them before Doug III (Peyton Meyer) decides to leave town for good?

That's right, Doug says goodbye to Julie (Susa Seaforth Hayes) and apologizes for all the trouble he has caused her. Julie tells her beloved Doug's grandson that he has potential before he takes off for parts unknown. At least they seem to be leaving things on good terms if Doug were ever to return one day.

Tate (Leo Howard) did order Doug to leave Salem once he rescued Holly and Ari, but he is about to get another big surprise when Sophia (Rachel Boyd) tells him that she had the baby. While that is true, she won't tell him the whole story.

When Gwen (Emily O'Brien) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) meet up in Horton Town Square, the former rivals go at it, proving they are also current rivals. Gwen tells Gabi she had been spending time in Alamania, so Gabi wonders if Gwen ran into Stefan (Brandon Barash) there.

That is where Gabi thinks he is, but she has no idea that Vivian (Louise Sorel) and Ivan (Ivan G'Vera) kidnapped her ex-husband and no idea where they really have him stashed. Could he return to Salem one day? Or are Gwen and Gabi about to form a new rivalry over Xander (Paul Telfer)?
