After online rumors surfaced that longtime Days of our Lives star Suzanne Rogers was leaving Salem behind, the soap put out a statement confirming the actress' status with the nearly 60-year-old daytime drama.
Days of our Lives quells rumors

According to Soap Opera Digest, a spokesperson said that the rumors "could not be further from the truth. Maggie and Suzanne are integral to the show’s history, present storylines, and now, on the heels of our pick-up, the future! Neither are going anywhere."
Indeed, Maggie remains at the forefront of multiple stories and was even given a front-burner story last year as she grieved for her husband, Victor Kiriakis (the late John Aniston), while being scammed by his former friend, Konstantin. Maggie even nearly married Konstantin (John Kapelos), but figured out his game before saying 'I do.'
This year, Maggie is there to support her daughter, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), and granddaughter, Holly (Ashley Puzemis), through their love life trials and tribulations. However, she still rules the roost with an iron fist and will put stepsons Xander (Paul Telfer) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) in their place when she needs to. She is also a member of the hospital board, taking crucial votes and often having some fun BFF chats with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Maggie's a Salem mainstay

Rogers first brought farm girl Maggie to life in 1973 and became the first Days of our Lives performer to win an Emmy in 1979 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category. Just last year, she picked up another golden statuette when she won the Academy's lifetime achievement award.
Maggie started her Salem life as Mickey Horton's devoted young wife who longed to have a child. She eventually had Sarah via a surrogate and adopted Melissa. In later years, DAYS gave her two retconned kids, Daniel (Shawn Christian) and Summer (Marie Wilson), both of whom are now dead.
Maggie's two great loves through the years have been Mickey (the late John Clarke) and Victor. When Maggie married Victor, it was an unexpected turn of events because the sweet heroine wed the big, bad villain. However, they became a popular pair as Maggie mellowed out her husband.
With DAYS recently renewed for another two years on Peacock, we expect to see a lot more of Maggie, as Salem would never be the same without her. Hopefully, she gets her very own storyline again soon.
