Which soap star Days of our Lives’ Greg Rikaart doesn’t want to work with

Greg Rikaart (Leo, Days of our Lives) and Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) host the CBS podcast, Soapy, together. In a turn-the-tables twist, the hosts had the chance to interview each other instead of a guest, asking and answering each other’s questions, and revealing some behind-the-scenes stories and secrets between laughs — including what it would be like to work together.

On Days of our Lives, Greg Rikaart is a fan favorite as Leo Stark, although viewers of The Young and the Restless know him as Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) half-brother Kevin Fisher.

Given his friendly smile, infectious laugh, and experience of all things daytime serial, Rikaart is a natural choice as cohost of CBS’s new podcast, Soapy. He and Rebecca Budig (Taylor, B&B) host the weekly show, interviewing past and present costars and showrunners together.

On ET’s Spilling the E-Tea, the friends and coworkers asked each other questions between several bouts of laughter and jokes.

Rikaart queried Budig with questions like what was the most awkward thing to happen while shooting a love scene (it was her candlelit bubble bath with then-costar Josh Duhamel on All My Children…and he farted). In turn, Budig asked Rikaart what his craziest storyline was (he recalled how he became known as “The Chipmunk” on The Young and the Restless).

But when it came time to discuss their methods, and to picture themselves in scenes with actors they had never worked with before, they agreed on some ideas.

When it comes to memorizing lines, Rikaart and Budig agreed that the pace of taping has certainly picked up over the years. Because of that, they use some tricks when memorizing lines, such as noting if a sentence ends and the next one begins with the same letter.

When discussing which stars they would love to do a scene with, Budig suggested reuniting with Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo, AMC) or doing a comedy with John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GH). Rikaart thought it would be amazing to work with Demi Moore (ex-Jackie, GH), and then suggested how fun it would be to work with Budig on a soap.

Budig agreed it would be fun, but also thought it would be annoying. She joked that she would be constantly asking to run lines. “I don’t think I would want to run lines with you,” Rikaart quipped as Budig laughed.
