Emmy-winning AMC/days-of-our-lives/GL actor stars in new thriller

It's pretty tough to compete with Days of our Lives' Marlena (Deidre Hall) being possessed by the devil, but a new film starring upcoming Salemite Jordi Vilasuso may cause some fans spectacular shivers.

AAll My Children alum Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Griffin Castillo) -- who will soon debut in Salem as someone connected to Galen Gering's Rafe -- is the star of the new film Circle, a thriller that tells the story of 50 strangers who are held captive and forced to choose one among the group who deserves to live.

"In a massive, mysterious chamber, fifty strangers awaken to find themselves trapped with no memory of how they got there," says the official teaser of the film, now available for purchase on iTunes. "Organized in an inward-facing circle and unable to move, they quickly learn that every two minutes one of them must die... executed by a strange device in the center of the room. At first the attacks seem random, but soon the strangers realize that they, as a group, have the power to decide who will be the next to be killed. A vote. A chance to control the machine. But how can they choose who deserves to die? And what happens when there is only one person left?"

Vilasuso is no stranger to heightened drama, having played the Emmy-winning role of Guiding Light's Tony Santos from 2001 to 2003 and AMC's Griffin from 2010 to 2011 and again (for the show's online version) in 2013.

What are your first impressions of Circle? Are you looking forward to Vilasuso's DAYS debut? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below, on our message boards, or by submitting Feedback.
