Judi Evans and Wally Kurth dropped to recurring status?

Rumor has it Days of our Lives stars Judi Evans (Adrienne Johnson) and Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis) have been bumped down to recurring status at the NBC soap.

Just when it seemed Days of our Lives would be focusing more on popular characters Adrienne and Justin comes word that the 50-year-old soap has dropped portrayers Judi Evans and Wally Kurth to recurring status.

The news was first reported by About.com, which reports that the stars were told the disappointing news on Monday, November 30. And as one can imagine, both were reportedly shocked by the show's decision, considering they were just placed back on contract status earlier this year.

In fact, Kurth walked away from his recurring position as General Hospital's Ned Ashton, tweeting on March 30, 2015, that he was required to do so because he wasn't able to do both shows simultaneously.

A DAYS rep has yet to confirm or comment on Evans and Kurth's current status with the show, and there's no word yet on whether or not the actors will remain with the series now that they've been bumped off contract.

Though it doesn't confirm the news, Evans took to Facebook last night with a message that seems to verify that things aren't going well at DAYS. "So grateful to work at Rose Hills..." she posted in reference to her other job as a sales director at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

As viewers already know, Justin and Adrienne recently separated, with Adrienne growing close to Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Justin growing close to Eve (Kassie DePaiva). However, neither character has been prominently featured since the recent exit of their son, Sonny (Freddie Smith).

What do you think about DAYS' decision to drop Kurth and Evans to recurring status so soon after putting them on contract? Why do you think the show made that decision? How would you feel if either actor decided to leave DAYS?
