Major stars announced for DAYS exec's soapy drama, Ladies of the Lake

Several popular daytime stars have been added to the cast of Ladies of the Lake, the new web series by Days of our Lives' executive producer Ken Corday and Winterthorne star Michael Caruso.

Ladies of the Lake, the new web series based on a book by Days of our Lives' executive producer Ken Corday and penned for the screen by Winterthorne star Michael Caruso, is only in its early stages of production and is already making huge waves in the entertainment world. Caruso, who is co-executive producing the upcoming series with former DAYS alum Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady Black), has announced a slew of well-known actors who have signed on to star in the drama series, which tells the story of four wealthy wives living in the exclusive gated community of Avalon, whose abusive husbands begin to turn up dead.

According to an official press release, portraying the four mysterious ladies are Emmy nominee Martha Madison [Belle Black, DAYS] in the role of Vivian Montgomery, an intellectual business woman who gave up her career to support her husband; Emmy winner Lilly Melgar [ex-Lily Corinthos, GH; Janice Ramos, The Bay] as Angelica Louis, the quintessential Hollywood wife with a tragic past; Marie Wilson [Summer/Bree, DAYS; ex-Meg Snyder] as Morgan Firestone, a former pageant queen who became the face of her husband's shipping empire; and Jessica Morris [ex-Jennifer Rappaport, One Life to Live] who portrays Crystal Amhurst, a barren trophy wife who will do anything to keep her husbands attention.

The talented female leads will be joined by a distinguished group of actors playing their ill-fated husbands, including Emmy winners Wally Kurth [Ned Ashton, GH; Justin Kiriakis, DAYS] in the role of Hudson Montgomery, a tech giant with a wandering eye, and Ian Buchanan [ex-Duke Lavery, GH; ex-Ian McAllister, DAYS] as Alphonse Louis, a B List movie star who will stop at nothing to land the next part. Golden Globe nominee Gordon Thomson [ex-Walter, DAYS; ex-Hal Freeman, Passions] will be seen as Sheraton Firestone, a shipping magnate whose ruthlessness is unwavering when protecting his business empire, and John-Paul Lavoisier [Philip Kiriakis, DAYS; ex-Rex Balsom, OLTL] will be portraying Jonathan Amhurst, the trust fund millionaire with an inexhaustible sexual appetite.

Three-time Emmy nominee Arianne Zucker [Nicole Walker, DAYS] is set to star as Clara, an investigative journalist hellbent on revenge with hidden ties to Hudson Montgomery, while Jillian Clare [ex-Abigail Deveraux] is playing Cassidy Montgomery, the Queen Bee of the Ladies of the Lake children. Also joining the illustrious cast is Emmy nominee Patrika Darbo [ex-Nancy Wesley, DAYS] as Dorothy Nolan, a woman with a sordid past, hiding behind the resident golf pro and soap veteran John Callahan [ex-Dr. Baker, DAYS; ex-Edmund Grey, All My Children] as Tommy Nolan, her Avalon Golf Pro husband, whose get-rich-quick schemes are finally catching up to him.

Ladies of the Lake begins production this month and will debut online later this summer. For more information, check out Soap Central's original story, or visit the series' official website.
