Tune in to OWN tonight to catch the premiere of Queen Sugar, starring Greg Vaughan (ex-Eric Brady, Days of our Lives; ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital), True O'Brien (ex-Paige Larson, DAYS), and All My Children alum Dondré T. Whitfield (ex-Terence Frye).

If drama is what you want, drama is what you'll get during tonight's debut of OWN's new series Queen Sugar, which stars soap alums Greg Vaughan (ex-Eric Brady, Days of our Lives; ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital; ex-Diego Guttierrez, The Young and the Restless), True O'Brien (ex-Paige Larson, DAYS), and Dondré T. Whitfield (ex-Terrence Frye, All My Children).

The series, which begins a commercial-free part one of its two-part season premiere tonight on the Oprah Winfrey network at 10PM EST, follows the lives of adult siblings Nova Bordelon (True Blood's Rutina Wesley), a tough-as-nails journalist and activist from New Orleans, and Charley Bordelon (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), a mother who uproots her life in California and brings her teen son, Micah, to Louisiana to claim a sugar cane farm from the sisters' recently departed father.

Vaughan plays Calvin, the longtime lover of Nova; O'Brien plays Stella; and Whitfield plays the recurring role of Remy.

"Honored to be working with the legendary @Oprah," O'Brien tweeted along with a photo of her and the series' producer. "Thank you for telling and sharing so many important stories."

Queen Sugar, which has already been renewed for season two, airs part two of its season premiere on Wednesday, September 7, at 10PM EST. The show will then continue in its regularly scheduled spot on Wednesday evenings.
