Kate Mansi has proven she has what it takes to play double identities, having slayed at playing both Abby and Gabby on Days of our Lives. And now she's giving the double identity challenge a shot in the movie world: she's the star of the The Office Mix-Up, an upcoming rom-com that follows the fallout of an accidental case of mistaken identity.
Formerly titled Miss Staken, the film stars Mansi as a brilliant creative named Lacey Keller. Unfortunately, nobody seems to notice just how brilliant Lacey really is -- and she doesn't have the confidence to make them notice. Struggling to make ends meet between a job at her best friend's jewelry store and as a night security guard at a marketing firm, Lacey sketches some ideas for a struggling campaign, which accidentally gain the notice of Mikey (Joey Lawrence), the firm's CEO, and his brother Greg (Matthew Lawrence), who is trying to prove himself with the campaign. Just one problem -- they assume Lacey is Valerie Staken, an executive who actually turned down their job offer to work at another firm. Tempted by the opportunity to catch up on her bills, Lacey takes on Valerie's identity.
Things get even more complicated, however, when Lacey finds herself falling for Greg. She must come clean before things go too far, but will she lose everything if she reveals the truth?
Mansi took to Instagram with the poster for The Office Mix-Up, which she captioned with the very vague tease: "Comin' atcha!!"
Mansi also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her film, which was directed by Andrew Lawrence and written by John Burd.
80s and 90s fans will no doubt love The Office Mix-Up, as it stars beloved brothers Joey Lawrence and Matthew Lawrence. Joey is known for sitcoms like Blossom, Gimme a Break!, and Melissa & Joey; while Matthew is known for films like Mrs. Doubtfire and The Hot Chick, as well as TV shows like Brotherly Love and Boy Meets World. Matthew also played the role of Danny Carrington, Jr., on Dynasty.
As DAYS fans know, it was announced in May that Mansi and Billy Flynn are returning as Abigail and Chad DiMera. Viewers can expect the pair to be back in Salem later this fall.
