Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane) doesn't know the reason why she was let go from Days of our Lives, but she reveals that it doesn't feel like it's a permanent decision.

Longtime Days of our Lives fans are super confused about why the powers that be decided to cut Nadia Bjorlin's time as Chloe Lane short, and the popular actress admits that she's in the same boat. However, she stresses that Chloe's exit might not be as indefinite as it has seemed since news of her fate broke earlier this year.

The actress tells Soaps In Depth that she still "doesn't know all the behind-the-scenes workings of how these decisions get made" but that she left the NBC soap opera with the understanding that it was time to give the character a little rest -- especially considering all of the drama that she's endured over the last three years.

"I didn't feel like it was a permanent thing, and they didn't really present it that way," Bjorlin reveals of being let go. "They just said, 'We're just not going to pick up your contract until we figure out what to do with you.' [So] this is not a good-bye... This is 'See you next time!'"

Now that Chloe is off to New York, Bjorlin -- who has played the character on-again, off-again since 1999 -- wants to thank both the show and its viewers for the unwavering support that they've shown her over the years.

"It's been an absolute honor and a privilege to be part of DAYS' legacy," she says. "It's like family over there, and I thank them for all of the years of support. And I thank the fans who've rooted for Chloe every step of the way, no matter what she's done -- good or bad!"
