Days of our Lives' Paul Telfer (Xander Cook) has some big news to share about his film Green Rush, which he cowrote, produced, and stars in. Plus, the teaser trailer for the thriller was just released!

Days of our Lives star Paul Telfer (Xander Cook) is on the road to becoming a filmmaker, and his first project just got picked up by a major studio: Lionsgate has agreed to bring Green Rush, the film he wrote with Danny Acosta and creator Rick Lee, to audiences.

Described as a "dark, edge-of-the-seat thriller," Green Rush tells the story of two brothers who are trying to run a cannabis farm while the laws around sales and distribution are still a bit murky.

"What ends up happening is they unknowingly get betrayed by (people) who owe money to some bigger gangsters," teases director Gerard Roxburgh to MMA Junkie. "They come to rob the farm of the cash -- and that's the gist of it. That's the setup. The movie takes place over the course of only a few hours where these guys get to the farm and things turn violent."

Telfer joins UFC featherweight Andre Fili in the film, as well as actors Mike Foy, Kriss Dozal, and Misha Crosby.

When the DAYS star took to Twitter with news about Lionsgate's involvement with his film, several of his soap opera family members weighed in. DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati joked that bad boy Xander finally "made good," while Kassie DePaiva (ex-Eva Donovan; ex-Blair Cramer, One Life to Live) praised her "movie star friend" for his "fantastic" success.

Green Rush will be available on UHD, On Demand, and Redbox beginning Tuesday, April 14. Check out the teaser trailer for the film below and let us know what you think in the Comments section at the end of the article.

Telfer joined the cast of DAYS in 2015. His previous credits include Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Hercules, while he can next be seen in Star Trek First Frontier. Green Rush is listed as his first writing and producing credit on IMDb.
