Dating is no picnic in the modern world, which is the very relatable topic of NBC's comedy pilot Crazy for You, starring Days of our Lives alum Shelley Hennig (ex-Stephanie Johnson).

Between ghosting, benching, orbiting, and all of the other modern dating woes, staying single and under a rock sounds rather appealing! But date we must if we want to find Mr. or Mrs. Right, which has prompted NBC to greenlight a comedy pilot starring Days of our Lives alum Shelley Hennig (ex-Stephanie Johnson) that pokes fun at the wonderful world of modern dating.

Called Crazy for You, the funny project follows Hennig in the role of Daisy, a woman who "re-enters the dating scene only to discover that while she was out of the game, the game sort of, totally, completely changed. Realizing she is a bit rusty at being 'normal' and 'appealing' on first dates, she'll need the support of her friends as she strives to succeed while being her true self in today's quick-to-dismiss dating culture."

According to Deadline, the comedy will also star Alice Lee as Emma, an organized and ambitious girl who works with Daisy; Tiana Okoye as Tasha, one of Daisy's best friends; and Nick Cafero as Ethan, Emma's boyfriend and a genuinely nice guy.

Crazy for You was created by former Saturday Night Live producer Rachele Lynn, SNL alum Seth Meyers, and SNL boss Lorne Michaels. It is executive produced by Michaels, Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Andrew Singer, Hilary Marx, and Jason Carden, with Lynn -- who wrote the script -- signed on as a co-executive producer.

Hennig joined DAYS as Steve and Kayla's daughter Stephanie in 2007 and played the role until 2011. She went on to star in shows like MTV's hit series Teen Wolf, the Netflix comedy When We First Met, and the Complex Network/Go90 comedy series, Liberty Crossing. She made a brief return to DAYS in 2017 for Steve and Kayla's wedding.

Crazy for You isn't the first pilot that Hennig has headlined. As Soap Central previously reported, she was cast in the lead role for the 2018 ABC pilot False Profits that ultimately did not make the cut at the network.
