Days of our Lives fans will soon be seeing Rex Brady back on their screens. Portrayer Kyle Lowder reveals he's returning to the NBC soap opera later this month.

Someone from Days of our Lives' not-so-distant past is heading back to the canvas, and it's just what the doctor ordered: Kyle Lowder is stepping back into the role of Rex Brady.

The actor confirmed news of his return to the NBC soap on Twitter, revealing that Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kate's (Lauren Koslow) son will be back on the canvas on Thursday, April 30.

Not much is known about why Rex is making an appearance (or if he'll actually be sticking around longer term), but fans are speculating that it might have something to do with his ex, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), who disappeared with Rachel, the baby she's been raising that actually belongs to Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). Might Sarah be able to lean on Rex in her time of need?

News of Lowder's return first broke in March, when Rex was seen for a brief moment in DAYS' spring preview video, which can be viewed below. The flash shows the character sitting on a park bench, holding a cell phone.

Lowder took on the character of DAYS' Rex in 2018 after a thirteen-year absence from the series (he previously played the role of Brady Black, which was taken over by Eric Martsolf in 2008). Unfortunately, Rex didn't take off with most fans, and Lowder was let go from the show in 2019. The actor also starred on The Bold and the Beautiful, where he played the character of Rick Forrester from 2007 to 2011.
