Days of our Lives viewers were utterly shocked when longtime Salemite Adrienne Kiriakis died during a car accident that was part of the soap's time jump story earlier this year, bringing portrayer Judi Evans' 33-year run on the series to an end. Fortunately, not long after the emotional death scenes aired, Evans' longtime co-star, Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis), promised fans that she'd be back -- though he didn't reveal any other information about why or when. Well, the time has now come to welcome Evans back into the DAYS fold, and the circumstances are juicier than anyone could have imagined!
This week marks the big wedding between Justin and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), so of course Evans will be back to spice up the big event. However, when she shows up on the canvas this Wednesday, July 8, it won't be as Adrienne -- but rather as her other Salem alter ego, Bonnie Lockhart!
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Evans teases that Bonnie will run into Justin first -- which will definitely have an effect on the nervous groom -- but she's way more interested in getting her hands all over Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), instead. To find out how it all goes down, be sure to tune into DAYS this week.
Bonnie Lockhart was last seen in Salem in late 2018. As fans may recall, she slinked out of town after it was revealed that the baby she claimed belonged to her and Lucas was actually her granddaughter, who'd been born after an affair between Mimi (Farah Fath) and Rex (Kyle Lowder).
As Soap Central previously reported, Judi Evans has been recovering from a serious horse riding accident and a COVID-19 diagnosis. To read more about that, click here.
