Everyone wants to know when Jay Kenneth Johnson will be reprising the role of Days of our Lives' Philip Kiriakis. The answer is: very soon!

News first broke that actor Jay Kenneth Johnson would be stepping back into the role of Days of our Lives' Philip Kiriakis back in October of last year, and fans have been waiting an excruciatingly long nine months to find out when. Well, hold onto your hats, because Johnson's return date has finally been revealed. Daytime Confidential reports that Johnson's Philip will be back in Salem beginning Tuesday, August 18.

As longtime DAYS fans know, Philip was a part of the teen scene of Salem back when characters like Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) were in high school. Johnson played the role during that time (from 1999 to 2002) and again from 2007 to 2011. He was last seen as part of DAYS' Last Blast Reunion special on the DOOL app in 2019.

Prior to that, the last actor to play the role of Philip was One Life to Live alum John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex Balsom), who stepped into the shoes of the character from 2015 to 2016. Kyle Brandt also briefly played the character from 2003 to 2006.

In addition to playing DAYS' Philip, Johnson is known for his roles as Dr. Matthews on Scrubs and Chris Remsen on North Shore. He also voiced the character of Dag the Dragon on Wonder Pets!.
