Days of our Lives' Jackée Harry (Paulina Price) has been cast in Everything's Trash, But It's Okay. Will the new project cut her time in Salem short?

Days of our Lives fans were over the moon to hear that Jackée Harry reportedly agreed to sign a contract at the NBC soap opera, which would allow the show's writers to more fully integrate her amusing alter ego, Paulina Price, into storylines. But news of a hot, non-soap opportunity for the actress has DAYS viewers' hearts sinking.

Variety reports that Harry has been cast in the Freeform comedy pilot Everything's Trash, But It's Okay, based on the novel of the same name by Phoebe Robinson. The project will star Robinson as Phoebe, a thirtysomething podcast star navigating her messy life. When Phoebe's younger brother Jayden emerges as a leading politician, she's forced to grow up and "relies on her friends and close-knit family to help her figure out adulthood, since she doesn't seem to have a clue."

Harry is set to play Phoebe's mom, Zora, while comedian George Wallace will play Phoebe's dad, Abraham. The parental pair is described as "mid-Western transplants, but they have made a home in NY. They love and support their children equally, but truth be known, Zora acts (and dresses) younger than she is and straddles the line between 'I'm my daughter's mother' and 'I'm my daughter's best friend.'"

Though she's made quite the name for herself on DAYS, Harry is definitely more known as a sitcom star than a soap opera star. Her credits include an Emmy-winning run on the classic sitcom 227, a starring role in Sister, Sister, and memorable appearances in comedies such as The Paynes, Everybody Hates Chris, and The First Family. She also appeared as Lily Mason on Another World in the early-to-mid 1980s.

Harry began airing on DAYS in March of 2021. At this time, it's unclear whether or not Everything's Trash will affect the actress' status at the NBC soap opera. Keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come.
