Ho, ho, ho-ly father Christmas! This December, Peacock will be airing the holiday film of soap opera fans' dreams: Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas!

Hallmark just got some major competition in the Christmas film department: NBC's streaming service, Peacock, just announced its plans to air the first-ever Days of our Lives holiday movie! And if you just can't wait to see the movie, check out the official trailer later in this article.

Called Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas, the holly and jolly project will follow legacy DAYS character Will Horton (Chandler Massey) as he writes a screenplay before his Christmas Eve deadline. Using everyone's feel-good holiday movie tropes, he creates a festive story based on his family and friends in Salem -- but with several twists and turns viewers will never see coming.

Recently returned DAYS star Eileen Davidson (Kristen DiMera/Susan Banks) was the first to reveal Peacock's festive film plans when she made a surprise appearance during a special event last night that was tied to the streaming service's release of its new series, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip (now streaming).

The upcoming DAYS holiday movie is Peacock's latest special offering to fans of the NBC soap opera. It previously released a five-part mini-series called Beyond Salem that starred several existing DAYS cast members and included special guest-star appearances by beloved former cast members, including Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed, Eileen Davidson as Kristen DiMera, and Charles Shaughnessy as Shane Donovan.

The festive project, which is set to begin streaming on December 16, will also see Alison Sweeney return as Sami Brady! In addition to Sweeney and the previously announced news that Chandler Massey will be featured as Will Horton, Peacock reveals that several other DAYS cast members will be featured in the film. They include Deidre Hall, Eileen Davidson, Jackée Harry, Drake Hogestyn, Camila Banus, Ari Zucker, Raven Bowens, Eric Martsolf, Billy Flynn, Paul Telfer, Lindsay Arnold, Lucas Adams, Carson Boatman, Greg Rikaart, Dan Feuerriegel, Zach Tinker, and Blake Berris.

In addition to its DAYS Christmas movie, Peacock will also be premiering an original holiday film called The Housewives of the North Pole, starring Kyle Richards and Betsy Brandt. Part of the Real Housewives franchise, that film will begin streaming on Thursday, December 9.
