Days of our Lives viewers can look forward to the return of Melissa Reeves just in time for the Horton family's annual Christmas tree decorating extravaganza.

Fans of Days of our Lives' Melissa Reeves have been looking forward to Christmas more than usual this year, because the festive holiday marks the return of the actress in her long-running role as Jennifer Horton. Well, the big moment is finally here!

Soap Central previously reported that Reeves would be back on-screen for the Horton family Christmas ornament hanging, which was confirmed when the actress appeared in the soap's winter preview video. And now, Soap Hub reports that Reeves will indeed be back just in the nick of time for the festive gathering; the actress is slated to reappear during the Friday, December 24, episode, when Jack (Matthew Ashford) returns from Boston with a huge surprise for Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller).

Reeves hasn't been seen on-screen since October 2020, following her decision not to return to the role of Jennifer when the soap resumed production after the industry-wide shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The actress, who's been playing the role of Jennifer since 1985, stated that she wanted to stay close to home, where both of her children -- Emily and Larry -- welcomed new babies.

Soap alum Cady McClain (ex-Dixie Cooney, All My Children; ex-Rosanna Cabot, As the World Turns; ex-Kelly Andrews, The Young and the Restless) temporarily stepped into the role of Jennifer while Reeves was unavailable.

How do you feel about Melissa Reeves returning to the role of Jennifer Horton after such a long absence? What do you hope is ahead for the character in 2022? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
