Days of our Lives fans will see the last of Ben Weston this month, as Robert Scott Wilson has taped his final scenes as the character and will soon be exiting Salem. But that's not the end of the story...
As reported by Soap Opera Digest, Ben will leave Salem on Friday, July 8, when he and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) set off on a new adventure and join Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on Peacock's Beyond Salem. The pair will briefly appear on the Monday, July 11, episode of DAYS when they arrive in Montreal, but that will be the end of the couple's time on the canvas.
Victoria Konefal has decided to leave the NBC soap opera permanently (more on that here), but according to DAYS' head writer, Ron Carlivati, there's still material ahead for Wilson, who "doesn't necessarily want to leave." As Carlivati teases, "Salem hasn't seen the last of Rob."
If that last sentence made you do a double take, you're not alone! The writer's use of the actor's name, Rob (rather than the character's name, Ben), has a lot of fans wondering if the rumor that Wilson will be returning as someone other than Ben might be true.
At the moment, Internet buzz indicates Wilson will return to DAYS as Alexander Kiriakis, the long-absent result of a brief affair between Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Anjelica (Jane Elliot/Judith Chapman) many years ago. And while the rumor at first seemed a bit far-fetched (even for DAYS), it's looking more and more likely!
The show is, of course, keeping quiet about exactly what's ahead for Wilson. But if he is set to return as Alexander (or somebody else), he's proven that he's more than capable of handling a new direction. As DAYS fans know, since his arrival in Salem in 2014, Ben went from being the Necktie Killer to being redeemed to being one half of the beloved, fan-favorite couple "Cin."
