Philip gets a call from his mother, who tells him that Lucas is improving. Philip tells Kate that Nicole moved out and he looks forward to his family being together again. Philip suggests that Kate tell Victor about Lucas herself.

Meanwhile, Nicole arrives at the mansion and, wearing a tiny, spandex, gym outfit, tries to tempt Victor. Philip rushes in, telling Victor he has an urgent phone call and is clearly disappointed to see Nicole sitting at the breakfast table. Victor takes the call in another room, leaving Philip and Nicole to argue. Philip vehemently tells her that she is not moving back in.

On the phone, Kate tells Victor about Lucas, then she asks him to help her save Austin from "a fate worse than death", otherwise known as Sami. Victor says she's on her own with this one, but takes pause when she says Philip's happiness could be involved.

Philip and Nicole continue to argue, with Nicole trying to befriend Philip by asking what he thinks of her outfit. Philip informs her that Victor is talking to his mother, then tells her about Lucas. Nicole is stunned. She remembers when her and Philip got along. Philip reminds her that ended when she started chasing after his dad. "My parents are meant to be together and that's how it's going to be," he shouts. Overhearing the comment, Victor enters and responds, "Don't be ridiculous, Philip. Kate is not moving back into this house, or into my life." Philip storms out of the room, kicking the door. Nicole lectures Victor on how Kate is using Philip to realize her goal of marrying Victor so she can start counting down the days until Victor dies. "The truth is that you're turning into her, your turning into Kate," Victor attacks. Nicole is miffed, as Victor continues to attack, saying that she is after "money and power." Nicole storms out, slamming her keys to the mansion on the table. Philip smirks as Nicole makes her exit.

Kate spies through the door window, as Sami tries to get Will to say good-bye to his father. Will refuses to leave. Sami hisses to Austin that Kate has turned Will against her. Will is losing control until Austin soothes him by saying they will come back. Finally, Will kisses Lucas good-bye. Austin tells Sami to calm down, then takes Will to get snacks for the trip home. Sami tells a still comatose Lucas that he will never see Will again. Kate slithers in and tells Sami that Will wants to be close to his daddy. Sami snaps, "As far as I'm concerned, his daddy is dead." Kate reminds Sami that, thanks to Will, Lucas is coming out of his coma and then she threatens to wipe Sami out of Austin's life. They sling insults until Sami pretends to smother Lucas with a pillow. Kate, calling Sami a bitch, pulls the pillow away. Sami vows to bring both Kate and Lucas down. Kate sees Austin approaching over Sami's shoulder and goes into her weepy, victim act. While Sami tries to defend herself, a disgusted Austin pulls her away accusing her of not trying to get along with his mother. Sami pushes him away saying, "Leave me alone." Austin goes after her, while Kate smugly applauds her own performance. She tells Lucas that Victor's fortune will be hers.

A sleeping Shawn dreams of telling Belle about Jan. He wakes up, realizing that he has to tell her. Meanwhile, Belle thinks about Shawn and knows that he is hiding something from her.

John shows Marlena how to collect a hair sample from Hope's hairbrush. John calls Bo and says that they are on their way over.

While they wait for their morning guests, Bo and Hope discuss Shawn and Jan. Bo tells Hope that Jan is pregnant and that Shawn is rescuing her. They walk downstairs and find Shawn in a pensive mood. He wants to talk to his parents about the baby, but the doorbell rings before he can get started. John, Marlena, and Belle arrive.

Shawn and Belle are hesitant as they greet each other. Shawn wants to tell Belle Jan's secret, but says it's not a good time. Shawn tenderly tells Belle he loves her and Belle wishes that they could have kept running when they took J.T. Shawn suggests they spend the day together and forget about all the problems. "I'm going to go on loving you forever," he says. Belle says that she will always love him.

John offers his support to the Brady's. Bo doesn't know why he couldn't have said that over the phone. Marlena gives them a gift basket, which Hope readily accepts. J.T. cries and Marlena offers to help Hope with him. After the ladies leave the room, Bo asks John why he's really there.

Marlena changes J.T.'s diaper and says that she got some lotion on her shirt. Hope tells her there is stain remover under the sink. Marlena locks herself in the bathroom. As Hope plays with J.T., Marlena puts on a rubber glove and takes a piece of hair from the brush. Hope, asking if Marlena found everything okay, tries to open the locked door. Marlena quickly finishes up, dabs water on her shirt, and comes out of the bathroom. Hope thanks her for coming over today and they talk about Isaac. Hope thinks that he could be her child, but she wants to hold onto J.T. Marlena slips and says they'll have the answers soon. "What answers?" Hope asks. Marlena says the truth is good, no matter how painful. Hope doesn't want to think about the possibilities; she just wants to hang onto J.T. as long as she can.

Bo is still suspicious of John's intentions, when Hope and Marlena come back downstairs. John and Marlena leave, with John giving reassurances that everything will work out. Bo and Hope are both suspicious of their guests' behavior. Hope worries about J.T., who is now acting sick. Bo reassures her, but Hope, still worried, takes J.T.'s temperature.

John and Marlena, at the DNA lab already, wait for the results. Marlena is unsure about getting the results, fearing that the situation could never end once the truth is out, especially if Hope and Stefano are Isaac's biological parents. "It's going to end, 'cause once we know the truth this nightmare's going to be over. For all of us," John reassures her. Philip gets a call from his mother, who tells him that Lucas is improving. Sami, Austin, and Will are on a plane home. Will is sad and misses his father. "You broke your promise, mommy," he says to Sami, referring to her making him leave his father's bedside. Sami explains that she only promised one day with his father and he had more than that. Her and Austin give Will moral support, until the stewardess takes Will to get a cookie. Sami empathizes with Austin about the situation he was in at the hospital, but he dramatically rolls his eyes as she blames Kate for everything that went wrong. She admits to not being rational sometimes and apologizes. Austin wishes she could rise above her anger and tolerate Kate. Saying "okay," and getting no further response from Austin, she kisses him. As Will comes back to take his seat, Sami reminds Austin that she is the one constant in Will's life. "Nothing is going to come between me and my son," she says, hugging Will. Now reconciled, Sami and Austin smile and kiss.

Kate, still at her son's bedside, talks to him about how she will ruin Sami. She tells him that he is the only one that knows how they fought and struggled to survive. Lucas moves his lips and mumbles, "Will." Kate calls for the nurse, who reports that he is not conscious yet. Kate decides to move Lucas back to Salem to be close to Will and she demands that the nurse get the doctor. "Mommy's bringing you home," she says to her son and kisses his hand.

Jen and Greta make a bed together and talk about Jack. Greta feels guilty about spilling Jack's secret. Jen reminds her that she guessed. They plan on wearing pigtails, like Abby, to breakfast in order to bother Jack. They run downstairs, chasing each other, which clearly disturbs Jack, who has been pumping Abby for information on the two women. Jack catches Greta and they have a brief romantic moment, which Jen notices. Getting in on the fun, Abby starts chasing Jack with her pigtails and Jen and Greta follow, acting like kids. The carpool for Abby arrives and Jen rushes her out the door, and then becomes serious. "I think someone's got a secret," she says, looking at a shocked Jack. She tells him that Greta did not tell his secret, but she could guess. He doesn't believe she could ever guess because of her personal experience with him. Jen and Greta are giggly, which makes Jack uncomfortable. "Now we've got a secret," Jen says, as her and Greta stand side-by-side and call each other "girlfriend."

A disturbed Lexie thinks about John's attack on her while he stole Isaac's DNA sample. Abe sneaks up on her and inadvertently scares her; they argue. Abe is mad that Lexie has not been taking his advice and he demands she be honest with him. She tells him about John's intrusive visit. He is stunned as Lexie weeps, "I thought he was going to kill me." Abe comforts her and calls the police station to order an arrest warrant. Lexie whispers "no" and Abe hangs up the phone. She tries to convince him to approach the problem from another angle, as she becomes more and more paranoid about losing Isaac. Abe says no one will take Isaac away. Lexie won't face the possibility that Hope could be Isaac's biological mother. "Why don't you try being a father to him, Abe," she yells. He is angry and Lexie apologizes.

John and Marlena get the DNA results that prove that Hope is Isaac's mother. They deduce that Stefano is the father. John doesn't want to tell Bo and Hope until they know for sure. Marlena says that since they don't have a sample of Stefano's DNA, they may be able to prove that Stefano is not Isaac's father by comparing blood types. She is uncomfortable, but they pull the hospital files. Finding the results, she wants to tell Hope right away.

Bo and Hope talk about loving and supporting both of their sons. Suddenly, Hope looks like she is going to faint and everything she sees turns white for an instant. She is scared. After she recovers, she blames the incident on the stress of John and Marlena's earlier visit. She has another 'white-out' and describes the sensation as seeing "a sheet of white." Bo wants to call a doctor, but Hope says no, she doesn't feel sick, instead, she feels like she should be remembering something that's blocked from her view. The doorbell rings, and Bo is disappointed to see John and Marlena announcing they have news.

John informs them of the DNA testing that he's been conducting. "Hope, Isaac is yours," Marlena says softly. "But he's not mine," John adds. Bo and Hope are stunned. Hope says, "I'm Isaac's mother," then she realizes that Stefano might be the father. Marlena tells Hope about comparing the blood types for her, Isaac, and Stefano. "There is no way that Stefano is the father of Isaac," she declares to a relieved Hope. As she wonders who the father is, she has another white-out.

As the truth sinks in, Hope becomes angry about all the time she's been away from her son Isaac. Mickey is there when Glen and Barb arrive for their visit with J.T. Hope privately pleads with Barb to stop Glen from taking J.T. Hope starts crying when she hears J.T. wailing as he's taken out the door. Austin apologizes to Nicole for taking so long in California but she doesn't have a problem with it since Lucas is obviously getting better. Nicole then badmouths Kate and blames her for forcing her to leave Victor's place. He then mentions Kate and Sami's argument and his frustration with his future wife. She advises Austin to forget about trying to negotiate a truce between the women. He resents her badmouthing Sami. Marlena talks with Sami about her trip to San Diego and when Roman arrives, Sami mentions her decision not to take Will to see Lucas anymore. Though Marlena marvels at how much progress Lucas made during the short visit, Sami claims she doesn't want Lucas to come out of his coma for fear that he'll return to drinking and harm her son. Roman and Marlena insist that Sami is making a mistake and urge her not to badmouth Lucas in front of Will. Marlena worries when Sami confides that she argued with Kate at the rehab center. Sami shows a brochure about Hawaii and boasts that she and Austin are going to move there with Will though she does say that she hasn't talked with Austin about this yet. Kate brings Lucas to the same floor as Austin's place. The doctor reports that Lucas is responding already to the change.

While Bo and Hope wait anxiously for Glen's time with J.T. to end, Barb advises Carol the social worker that she will support whatever Glen decides about his baby. Glen finally returns J.T. and stuns Bo, Hope and Shawn when he declares that he is not going to leave Salem without his son. Shawn continues to try to reassure Belle that he loves her no matter what happens. Jan asks Shawn to confirm one more time that he is willing to take responsibility for the unborn baby she is carrying and he does so. Marlena waits for Belle to come home so she can give her the news that John is not the father of Isaac, Hope's baby. John thinks that Hope should fight for custody of Isaac. When Belle arrives, John and Marlena sit her down and give her the news about Isaac. Cameron pays Rolf and Lexie a visit and boasts that she's sure her client Glen will not go for custody of the baby. When Abe finds Cameron at the mansion, Lexie covers and claims that she's going to hire the attorney to represent them should Hope or John try to win custody of Isaac. Abe doubts Cameron's real role and is chastised by his wife. Rolf later congratulates Lexie on her actions.
