Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Two soaps are currently doing teenage pregnancy and adoption stories, but in completely different ways. On General Hospital, Brook Lynn is finally telling people her long-hidden secret. She got pregnant while in high school and gave her baby up for adoption with her mother's blessing. On DAYS, Sophia is a high school senior pregnant with Tate's baby, but her mother is less-than-thrilled with the idea of giving her baby up for adoption. However, a few months back, Sophia had found a workaround for this that has never been discussed again. She turns 18 while she is still pregnant, so her mother would have no say in what she decides to do once the baby is born, so why doesn't Sophia just go this route, even if she is now on modified bed rest? We understand Amy Choi and her unreasonable ways are essentially plot points to help complicate this situation, but they are bad plot points. First, where is Sophia's father, and why do we never get his opinion on any of this? Second, why would Amy be okay with letting Sophia give her baby to the dastardly DiMera clan but not another couple they could get to know over the next few months? Plus, there's that whole Sophia turning 18 thing that makes Amy's point of view pretty moot. There are so many things that don't work with this teenage pregnancy story that we hope the new writers found a satisfying resolution to this mess — we will see soon.
