AMC fave Chrishell Stause joins DAYS

Chrishell Stause has been cast in a yet-to-be-named role on NBC's Days of our Lives. The actress made her daytime debut in 2005 as Amanda Dillon on All My Children.

There's a reason that All My Children favorite Chrishell Stause (ex-Amanda Dillon) is not returning to the show's online reboot: the actress is under contract to NBC's Day of our Lives.

Stause first teased fans of her new daytime gig during Soap Central's 18th anniversary celebration on the March 22 edition of Soap Central Live.

"I'm so excited that [All My Children] is getting a second chance. I am not doing it right now -- like I said, who knows, if there's something in the future, I don't know. But I can say the reason I'm not doing it is because I am already under contract with another daytime show, which I cannot tell you guys, but I'm really excited for you guys to find out," Stause revealed. "Obviously, I can't let the cat out of the bag, but as soon as they announce it, I'll be really excited for everybody to know, because I'm really excited."

Stause also assured fans that she'd never close the door to a possible AMC return down the line. To hear Chrishell's remarks and the rest of her co-hosting duties on the special Soap Central Live podcast, click here.

Immediately after Stause's tease, the actress was inundated with messages about which soap she'd soon be calling home.

"Sorry I can't tell u what show yet. Just wanna let u know how much it means when u guys say u will be watching no matter the show," Stause explained on Twitter

Now, nearly a month later, TVLine.com revealed that Stause has been cast as a new character on DAYS that will interact with Galen Gering's Rafe.

"So happy that they finally announced it -- I couldn't be happier! My bags are packed: moving to Salem," Stause exclaimed.

Stause made her daytime debut in May 2005 as Amanda Dillon on All My Children, a role that ultimately allowed her to show off her dramatic and comedic side. The actress remained with the series through its final broadcast on ABC in September 2011.

In 2012, Stause co-hosted Soap Central's Daytime Emmys Red Carpet coverage.

Stause first reported for work last week, but because DAYS tapes it episodes several months in advance, that means that fans may have to wait until mid-summer before her yet-to-be-named character hits the airwaves.
